21.01.2022 Australian Army Reserve salutes Major-General JAK Mackay. In 1916 the then Brigadier JAK Mackay formed the Australian Army Reserve Forces and was it's first National Director (Director-General) His vision and capacity created this amazing service. After JAK Mackay's term the Australian Army Reserve Forces was renamed The Citizen Military Forces. In 1980 it was permanently named The Australian Army Reserve.

05.01.2022 We have just found the original photograph. JAK Mackay ,1901 ,then a Lt Col and 1st Australian Horse uniform. This exact uniform was recovered at Wallandoon about 20 years ago and donated by Mr Alex Baldry to the Australian War Memorial
