22.01.2022 With the season coming to a close north of the equator, ours is about to begin. Start off this season from a better position than usual by having a few lessons to help you understand your game. Lessons are available at both Box Hill and Traralgon over the coming weeks. Ps Im off to play some cracking courses around Queenstown in a week and may be posting some of the pictures... be warned, you are at risk of jealousy!

20.01.2022 With the European Tours finale ending in dramatic fashion in Dubai on Sunday, and the LPGA final going down to the wire too, the Northern hemisphere are settling down for winter whereas we are ramping up for the summer. Whos going to win over the next few weeks? More importantly, what can you learn from the best? Watch their rhythm, their preshot routines and finally just how good they are around the greens. It all comes with practise but its worth it if you want to knock those shots off your score.

20.01.2022 So a bit of deja vu today. Same course, different hole, same result. Lightning does strike twice it seems. Great day out at Jacks Point again, admiring the views and the stunning layout. Unfortunately just one round to go at Millbrook tomorrow - should be fun with beautiful weather forecast!

19.01.2022 So with wins in the past weeks for Phil, Rory, Justin Thomas, Bubba and Jason Day as well as Tigers return to form, is anyone excited about The Masters yet?! Cant wait!! Whos going to win this year?

19.01.2022 So with Jin Young Ko winning the ISPS Handa Australian Open in imperious fashion from start to finish, what can we learn from how they performed? 1. Rhythm is everything: did you see any of them try to whack the ball? 2. Distance control when putting is crucial: time to get dialled in on the practice green. 3. Even the best dont play perfect golf: look how calm they were throughout and stay level yourself. All you need after that is thousands of hours of sustained, challenging practice and you too could be that good!

19.01.2022 So Justin Thomas wins his first major, and Im definitely a believer that hell get more with his game. Looks like the new generation are well and truly here and boy can they play! Power, skill and a touch of class about the way they handle themselves. This should be a wonderful time for promoting golf at its best, just dont let the rules officials spoil things! So if the weather today has helps nudge you out of hibernation, Ive got a couple of free slots next week at Traralgon. Message me if you want to move your game in the right direction this year.

16.01.2022 So another tough day at the office but dont let the blue skies fool you, the wind off the lake had some bite to it. A really fun day was had at Queenstown Golf Club where focusing on the shot came a close second to focusing the camera lens.

13.01.2022 Finally managed to watch the official highlights of The Open Championship and it yet again did not disappoint. Similar to last years slugfest between Stenson and Mickleson, this time Speith let his guard down to let Kuchar get the upper hand. What he did was then to retaliate with an upper cut of such ferocity, no one saw it coming! Rarely do we get to see an about face as drastic as that for the positive, he became the Champion golfer by well and truly proving he has a champions heart and attitude.

13.01.2022 Its certainly one of the reasons I took to golf - I liked the isolation, the personal achievement and being out in nature. To me, golf is a good walk improved.

11.01.2022 One final round on our trip around Queenstown and finished up at Millbrook. Unbelievable day with 25*C and the usual stunning scenery. Id like to say its been tough but its been a ball! Ps winner had 30 points on the back 9 today, which is impressive!

06.01.2022 Did anyone else find it great that the PGA Tour finally added a links style course to their roster at the Byron Nelson last week? Admittedly its hundreds of miles from the sea but when the wind blew it packed a punch. And kudos to Marc Leishman from Warnambool for battling it out for 2nd!

05.01.2022 So the Vic Open wraps up with wins for Minjee Lee and Simon Hawkes, but surely the greatest achievement is that it proves that mens and womens golf can compete on the same stage, for the same prize money with the same entertainment level. Well done to all involved in this event and lets hope that the powers that be in golf take note of this brave, sensible and hopefully pivotal event.

04.01.2022 I have been slightly detached from the Ryder Cup since moving continents but my heart remains for the European side. I just hope that the golf is excellent, the competition fierce and the crowds fair (and Europe defeat a very strong USA team).

04.01.2022 So, not that we thought otherwise but more evidential proof that golf is good for you. More studies are needed about the benefits socially, mentally and physically (strength-wise) but I see it daily.

Where would you like to take a golf trip to and would you prefer fun courses to play or challenge yourself on championship style ones? E.g. Ireland and championship courses like Royal Portrush. Id be fascinated by peoples experiences too so the more feedback the better!
