23.01.2022 In 1901, Australia's first Prime Minister, Sir Edmund Barton, announced an international competition to design a flag for the new Commonwealth of Australia. There were 32,823 entries and the winning prize was shared by five winning entries. This flag was designed to represent Australia as one nation, a representation of unity of all Australian states and territories. The flag was flown for the first time on the 3rd September 1901 at the Exhibition Building in Melbourne. Each ...morning and afternoon, our Support classes have been granted the opportunity to represent our school to continue this honorary ritual. With respect and pride, we humbly take time to appreciate the efforts of the leaders of our past to unite us, and to acknowledge and pay respects to the First Nation people by raising the Australian Aboriginal Flag. Unity, pride and respect, these powerful words describe exactly how we feel when we represent our school in raising the flag. Pictured here is our Homebush support class with Richard Rapana, Joshua Dinh, Emre Tahtali, Jayden Prasad, Tadeu Tong and Shantelle Pritchard. See more

12.01.2022 SDSFA Technical Director Rod Galic was contacted by James Busby High School teacher Antony Fodor. He had heard about the SD Football In Schools program and wan...ted to see if James Busby High could be a recipient of football gear which would be immensely popular with its student body, of which a large number play football . Deploy Football are at the forefront of manufacturing state of the art football products such as balls, bibs, poles etc and always promoting a healthy balance between sport and academic studies. Deploy Football delivered the gear to Rod who then passed it on to Antony and James Busby High School. The school has a wide range of students who represent the school in sport, but also in the NSW State Football Knockout competitions, the SD local competition and in the NSW Premier League competition. Antony stressed the need for regular physical activity as a way of creating a positive environment, both physically & mentally, which, in turn, creates a strong foundation for academic success. Congratulations to Antony and James Busby High for their proactive outlook in promoting football at their school. Thanks also to Deploy Football for the gear and everyone involved for making the Football In Schools program a success. See more
