25.01.2022 With only 3 days of voting left, including today, make sure you don't forget and risk a fine - and please Vote 1 James Daniels for lower taxes and better services.

25.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will create a dedicated School for Excellence in Construction and the Trades to provide young Canberrans with additional career pathways. Our plan to create a dedicated high school for Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 school students will focus on vocational training in construction and trades, whilst meeting the Australian school curriculum and meeting all the requirements of the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies. Only accredited packages will be on o...ffer allowing students to graduate from school with vocational qualifications. In comparison, early this year Labor savagely cut vocational education funding. There is a better way - Vote 1 James Daniels, Liberal for Brindabella.

25.01.2022 If elected, a Canberra Liberals government will employ an extra 130 police officers. In contrast Labor has reduced the number of officers while the population grew by 60,000 new residents. I've spoken to people who have not been able to get police to attend incidents of dangerous driving in the suburbs, such as burnouts, and was speaking to someone just this morning who was unable to get police to attend a minor theft and criminal damage complaint. This is not the fault of our hard working officers, but the ACT Labor-Greens government who have chronically under funded ACT policing for years. There is a better way - vote Liberal for a safer Canberra.

24.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will build a proper car park for Mt Taylor. It's a popular walking spot for people but the supporting infrastructure isn't there. Vote 1 James Daniels

24.01.2022 Good to see Rattenbury has come clean and confirmed a vote for the Greens is a vote for Labor after the bizarre suggestion on 1st September that they hadn't ruled out a coalition with the Liberals. Maybe he got mixed up due to COVID and thought it was April 1st instead of September 1st. The story here is there is only 1 way to end the rates rip off and improve services - Vote Liberal.

24.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will save the average household $1800 a year. The Barr Labor-Greens government has been taxing the hell out of residents for years, but there is a better way - Vote Liberal

24.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will fund more accessible parking for people with disabilities.

24.01.2022 The AMA's annual report card has yet again ranked the ACT last in the country. After 19 years it's time to change the government so the poor performance of our health system can be addressed. There is a better way - Vote Liberal.

22.01.2022 Today is your last chance to vote for lower taxes and better services. Over its 19 years in office, the Labor government has presided over the decline of our health system and schools while relentlessly increasing taxes and debt. If it was capable of delivering for Canberrans, it would have by now. It's time to change to a Canberra Liberals government with fresh ideas and a strong plan. Vote 1 James Daniels and 2-5 for the other Liberal candidates for Brindabella.

20.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will hire 100 additional firefighters.

20.01.2022 A lot of infrastructure in Tuggeranong is showing its age so I'm glad to say a Canberra Liberals government will invest $25m in upgrading playgrounds. There is a better way - vote Liberal

20.01.2022 The Canberra Liberals have a strong plan to improve services for Canberrans with disabilities. We will provide additional funding for disability advocacy groups and peak bodies, increase the provision of parking and establish a scholarship to honour the late Sue Salthouse, a tireless advocate for people with disabilities.

19.01.2022 Policing in Canberra has been chronically short staffed for years and I've spoken to voters who have had difficulty getting police to attend when needed. That's why a Canberra Liberals government will fund an additional 130 Police Officers. There is a better way - Vote 1 James Daniels for better services.

19.01.2022 It's nice to see a Labor candidate acknowledge his own party is shorting Catholic education with a lower level of funding than the rest of the country. Last year, my closest Catholic primary school operated on $1,210 less total funding (including parent fees) per student p.a. than my closest public primary school, yet the Catholic school has a lower ICSEA score and so has more need. The public school cost the ACT $12,005 per student while the Catholic school only cost $2,424.... Another nearby public primary school cost even more at $14,871 per student. The Gonski funding model is designed to ensure funding is fair and needs based, but that hasn't been happening in the ACT. Even if elected, this candidate won't have any impact on Labor policy as he's bound by Labor's caucus. The only way to ensure fair funding for all students is to vote Liberal. See more

19.01.2022 Only 5 days of voting left - Vote 1 James Daniels for lower taxes and better services.

18.01.2022 Labor and the Greens have been the parties of government in the ACT for 19 years. They write the laws but don't think they apply to them. Joy Burch, Speaker of the Assembly and Mick Gentleman, government minister both breached the 100m exclusion zone at Chisholm pre-poll this morning as well as the Movable Signs Code of Practice. Jonathan Davis, lead Greens candidate and non-incumbent Labor candidates Taimus Werner-Gibbings and Cathy Day also breached the exclusion zone. When 80% of ACT Labor candidates and the lead Greens candidate for Brindabella knowingly breach electoral laws, what can Tuggeranong expect if it elects them to the Assembly? There is a better way - Vote 1 James Daniels, Liberal for Brindabella

17.01.2022 With schools returning today, remember that only a Canberra Liberals government will bring back school bus services and focus on improving education outcomes. There is a better way - Vote Liberal

17.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals government will support our local businesses so they can employ more people and help turn the economy around. There is a better way - Vote Liberal

14.01.2022 Today is the last day of early voting and tomorrow is election day, so if you haven't voted make sure you plan for it, and remember, only a Canberra Liberals government will save households $1,800 each year. Vote 1 James Daniels, Liberal for Brindabella.

14.01.2022 The Canberra Liberals know that in order to rebuild the economy post-Covid, we'll need businesses that not only survive, but thrive and employ more people. That's why we will implement a strong package to support our local businesses through this difficult time. There is a better way, vote Liberal

13.01.2022 Anti-democracy left wing criminals have been active in Tuggeranong over the weekend. It's telling when my signs are slashed to pieces or completely vanish while Labor signs continue to sit there. My signs have been funded by me, not by donors. Given the year we've all had I didn't want to hassle people for money. I'm placing them legally, not seeking to overwhelm people with a huge mass of them and recording where every sign goes to ensure they all get collected quickly once ...polls close. It would be nice if everyone respected the democratic process, but in the knowledge that the criminal destruction and theft will likely continue, think about the sort of people you want representing Tuggeranong in the Assembly - people like me who believe in free speech and democracy or people whose supporters try to shut down views that don't align with their own.

13.01.2022 To give first home buyers extra help to realise their dream, and to kick-start the construction sector, the Canberra Liberals will save first home buyers $33,000 on the sale price of new blocks of land released by the Suburban Land Agency throughout 2021.

13.01.2022 The Canberra Liberals will ensure that every local shopping centre and business precinct has recycling bins before the end of the next term of government. We will offer $10,000 grants to support recycling initiatives like Lids4Kids, a volunteer-run project that rescues plastic bottle lids from landfill and re-purposes them into sustainable products. There is a better way - vote Liberal for more recycling.

12.01.2022 I'm over at Lanyon shops for the afternoon. Drop by for a chat.

10.01.2022 The ACT has the highest taxes in the country, but the worst hospitals and an education system that's letting down kids. Other jurisdictions do better with lower taxes, so why not here? There is a better way - Vote Liberal

09.01.2022 I love living in the bush capital, and under a Canberra Liberals government it will remain so with our Green Space Guarantee. Every resident will live within walking distance of a green space and we won't take land zoned for community facilities and plonk more housing on it like the Labor-Greens government did just after the last election. There is a better way - vote Liberal

09.01.2022 People from many cultures call Canberra home. That's why a Canberra Liberals government will build a new multicultural centre, increase support for the multicultural festival and boost education for learning a second language. There is a better way - Vote Liberal

09.01.2022 A Canberra Liberals Government will duplicate Tharwa Drive and Isabella Drive. Vote 1 James Daniels and 2-5 for the other Liberal candidates.

08.01.2022 The description of the purchasing of some $190 million in services without open tender was described as chaotic, confused, lazy, incompetent and just administrative convenience. When voters ask how a Liberal government can both improve services and lower taxes, I point them to this information. Last year the ACT became the highest taxed jurisdiction in the country but we're getting below average services. The ACT does not have a revenue problem but lacks basic controls over spending decisions and after 19 years of Labor-Greens government its time for a change. There is a better way - Vote 1 James Daniels for lower taxes and better services.

06.01.2022 Andrew Barr made 2 promises to residents about Rates this year. A $150 rebate and a 1 year freeze in response to COVID. While these measures paled into insignificance compared to support other states and territories provided, they would have been welcome, if only the freeze were delivered. A Tuggeranong resident provided me a copy of their Rates notices after they discovered their Rates had not been frozen, but instead increased by 4.5%. Rather than having a bill $150 lower t...han last year, Barr took back most of the rebate through increasing the valuation and fixed charges. Whether it was incompetence, deliberate trickiness or just plain arrogance that people wouldn't notice, it's clear Andrew Barr can't be trusted to deliver on his election promises if he can't follow through on a promise that's only a few months old. This also raises questions about Barr's promise that Rates would "only" increase by 3.75% p.a. for the next few years. Maybe he'll increase the existing levies or add a new one or let valuation increases drive them higher. There is a better way - vote Liberal for a real Rates freeze for 4 years and please share this post to ensure more people become aware of what the Barr Labor government is doing as compared to what it's saying.

06.01.2022 I'm over at Kambah this morning talking to people about our plan to lower taxes and improve services.

06.01.2022 This Rates notice arrived Friday, weeks later than normal, and rather than Barr's promised rates freeze plus $150 Covid rebate it shows a 5.6% increase offset by the rebate. How many people have already voted believing Barr's promises on Rates? If, in his mind, a 5.6% increase is a freeze, what will actually happen with Rates over the next 4 years if his government is returned? There is a better way - Vote 1 James Daniels Liberal for Brindabella for a real Rates freeze for 4 years.

03.01.2022 When people ask how a Canberra Liberals government can both lower taxes and improve services, one of the things I say is that other parts of Australia are providing better services with lower taxes, so why can't we? This is a great example. NSW is planting trees at a cost of $24 a tree while ACT Labor is claiming it costs them (that is ACT taxpayers) $300. After 19 years of Labor, they're tired and lazy and wasting our hard earned tax dollars. Canberra needs fresh ideas that can only come with a change of government. There is a better way - Vote Liberal

01.01.2022 Only caught the last 25 minutes as I was out door knocking, but what a finish!
