17.01.2022 Many of us are having a well-deserved break from studying at the moment, which means that we naturally want to socialise a whole lot more. With COVID-19 still h...anging around, it's important to continue to socialise safely. We know you know, but it's really important to keep washing your hands. If they're feeling rough and dry, remember to moisturise too! It's normal to need to hang out with friends and family, but it's really important that you do it safely. Even if you're not in a priority postcode with extra restrictions, keep your distance! That will keep you and your friends and family healthy and safe, and help to stop the spread of the virus, so we can get back to normal. All this can be really tough, so if you're feeling unsure or nervous, talk to someone. It might be a friend or someone else you trust (from a safe distance!) or you could contact headspace Craigieburn on 8338 0919, or chat to a clinician online at headspace.org.au/eheadspace

06.01.2022 Image 1: it can feel confusing to navigate the current information about COVID-19 and different restrictions for different areas, as well as finding the right s...upport; financially, mentally, medically. We’ve tried to gather the most important stuff here in one place. Just expand for more! If you are in one of the restricted postcodes (3012, 3021, 3032, 3038, 3042, 3046, 3047, 3055, 3060, 3064, 3031 and 3051), this post might feel most relevant to you, but there are others in Vic that might find the information here useful too. Image 2: The state government says that in these postcodes, there are only 4 reasons to leave your home; get food, supplies and medication, exercise, medical support or to attend work or study. You can get in trouble for not following these rules, so do your best. Image 3: Lots of us are having a break from study at the moment, so it’s normal to want to visit and hang out with people. Unfortunately, that’s not possible for everyone right now. Socialise online, or if you are out for any of the 4 reasons allowed, do your best to maintain your distance (even if you know the people well), and practice good hand hygiene. You might even like to wear a mask if you think you can’t keep your distance, for example if you take public transport to work, or have to be in a shopping centre for any reason. Image 4: it’s normal to have feelings of uncertainty, loneliness and other difficult emotions when things are so weird. Talk to people your friends and family, or contact a help service such as eheadspace (headspace.org.au/eheadsapce) or Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800 Image 5: it’s not just your mental health that needs care, you might also have questions about finances, or need help getting supplies if you are in quarantine because you are suspected of having Covid, have symptoms, or are a close contact of a diagnosed Covid patient. The government has a hotline set up for all your tricky covid questions (and translators are provided) 1800 675 398 Image 6: at this time, many of us will need tests that’s nothing to be ashamed of, and the best way you can help us to slow the spread is by getting a test. It is a bit uncomfortable, but it’s worth it to know whether you might be carrying covid. Get a test if you have ANY cold/flu symptoms, if you live in one of the restricted postcodes, or if a government official asks you to. We’ve gathered a list of the closest testing sites to Craigieburn, but others might be set up to help as many tests get done as possible. If you DO have symptoms, stay in your home EXCEPT to get your test done, and stay there until you know your results. Image 7: The headspace Craigieburn centre is in this zone, so we are offering very limited in-person appointments, with our work being transferred to online and phone services. You can still give us a call to access our services on 8338 0919, Monday Friday 9am-5pm. We are still there for young people to support them and their friends and family.
