25.01.2022 Queen's Bath Kauai:: Queen’s bath in Kauai is a visually spectacular place on the island and definitely worth a visit. Its extremely popular because of the views that you get from the Queen’s Bath across Hanalei Bay, but also because its a really nice place to swim as well. Each time I head across to Kauai, I’ll always head down here to have a swim and chill out by the ocean. http://jamiepaterson.com.au... It looks calm and inviting here but its typically closed during the winter months, as the path itself is long and very slippery because of all the mud and the huge Hawaiian swells come roaring straight over the baths. If you think its worth the risk heading down here in Winter, there is a sobering sign at the bottom of the path listing the names of those who have drowned in this location. On the bright side, in summer this place is probably the best spot to go swimming in Kauai. Thanks, Jamie
24.01.2022 Tunnels Beach Kauai:: This beach is know as one of the best beaches in Kauai to surf. Its also famous for being Bali Hai in the musical South Pacific. Its a great spot for snorkelling and there is a huge cave just opposite the carpark. Its a great spot to just spend a few hours wading in the shallows while staring at the mountains. Heaven!
23.01.2022 Ningaloo Reef:: I was lucky enough quite some time ago to be given 2hrs in a helicopter above Ningaloo Reef. Needless to say it was a truly humbling experience and it blew me away. Ningaloo is larger than the Great Barrier Reed and more importantly its a lot more accessible as you can see from this photo. It takes a couple of hours by boat to reach the Great Barrier Reef, but as you can see from here, most of the reef is accessible by a short swim.
22.01.2022 Cable Beach:: More Cable Beach goodness. Sorry I can't stop thinking of how nice it would to be up there at the moment so that I can escape this weather. Isn't supposed to be Spring? :-) Jamie

20.01.2022 Pretty in Pink:: I managed to capture this shot a few weeks ago out in Western Australia's wheat belt. It took me hours to get out there and it was one of the clearest nights I've seen in a long time. The milky way was just so bright. Unfortunately for me, this was pretty much the only good shot I got of it. I forgot to keep checking that my camera was in focus and everything else I captured was blurry. :-( What's the silliest photography mistake you've ever done?... Thanks, Jamie
20.01.2022 Peaceful Moments:: Two weeks ago I headed out East of Perth for about 3hrs to get some crystal, clear shots of the Milky Way. There was a storm brewing and I wasn't sure that I'd get the shot. I still decided to head out regardless and as you can see the drive was worth it. As the sun was setting I sat myself down on a large hill and just watched the night unfold. It was beautiful. No city noises and just a beautiful calm surrounded everything. I love moments like that. ...:-) I always leave feeling so content. Thanks, Jamie http://jamiepaterson.com.au
20.01.2022 Recently, I had to go up to the Pilbara on a commercial shoot. After a fairly long day Paul Pichugin and I decided to head down to the beach to capture the sunset. I'm so glad we did. Its one of the best I've ever seen! Most of you know that I rarely post on here any more. I am very active on Instagram though, so it would be great to see you all there! :-) Jamie
16.01.2022 Wow what a great sunset we just had. Hope your view was just as good. Are you all having a great weekend?

14.01.2022 Cable Beach Reflections:: Cable Beach is certainly a favourite place to capture sunset photos. It seems like almost every night produces some sort of magic! There is nothing quite like relaxing in the warm glow of the tropical sun as it starts to set. Its made even more enjoyable by sharing the beach with other people who are just looking out at the sunset in silent contemplation. I think another trip to Cable Beach in 2014 is on the Calendar. :-) Have you guys started to... plan your 2014 holidays yet? Thanks, Jamie

02.01.2022 Weekend Wandering:: How was your weekend? The weather is finely starting to look like Spring here in Perth. Bring it on! Last weekend I did some wandering around and managed to capture this shot. I'm pretty happy with it. What do you think? Do you 'like' it? Thanks,... Jamie http://jamiepaterson.com.au
01.01.2022 I'm currently working on a pretty cool Milky Way shot.
