23.01.2022 Well done to the small band of local volunteers who turned out for the pre fire season fuel reduction working bee at the Jamieson Rec Reserve today 1st Dec and yesterday 30th Nov. It was a huge effort slashing the long grass, cutting back dead and fallen vegetation, cleaning up around the playground, toilet block and old bar areas. Of course one highlight was burning the green waste. Monday it was a big blaze; by Tuesday it had returned to flat black soggy ground. Working T...ogether for an even Safer Community Meanwhile, elsewhere in Jamieson was another working bee ... tarting up Gerrans Reserve for the Christmas season. Looks like Community Tuesdays are gaining ground against the restrictions of COVID-19.
