22.01.2022 JAMMALONG at COOCHIE had its first independent session on Saturday the 20th of March 2021 and it was a blast. These photos shared by Mark Tiro show a sample of the fun folk attending had. Laura and Mark Tiro are leading this session based on the Jammalong model and it worked well. This session developed from the Pop Up Jammalong run by Jose Garcia (founder and host of Jammalong in Melbourne) on two occasions he was visiting Coochiemudlo Island with his other musical activ...ities. Jose held it twice to test the waters and it fell into fertile ground with the locals enjoying and embracing the concept. For me (Dianne Porter) as the founder and developer of the Jammalong Model about 14 years ago while I was doing my Associate Diploma in the Music Business, I am well pleased to see this happen. This event runs on voluntary energy alone - everyone involved and participating covers their own costs and needs re food, chairs, instruments and transport. This makes it easy to replicate and relocate to any public park with a suitable jamming area anywhere in Australia. Jammalong now has three venues - Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC and Coochiemudlo Island QLD. I love organic music and this for me is pure joy even though I was not there in person. Well done everyone - I congratulate you all. Dianne Porter Jammalong in Canberra

05.01.2022 This is a one hour show done in a car in Japan by a father and son. Its just banjo and bass but they play a lot of the bluegrass standards. For banjo pickers and bass players its nice to hear these sounds without all the other instruments. Great inspiration.
