17.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We wanted to drop a line and let you know how much we appreciate your support since we opened in January. We are writing to you all to ask a favour.... Newcastle is about to provide all small venues in certain post codes an opportunity to participate in a late night trading trial. The idea is to provide some relief to small venues so that they can survive the devastating impact of COVID-19, and have comparable trading hours to the larger corporations that run big venues. Seems reasonable, right? Jam's was invited to participate in the trial, and we 'opted in'. However; controversially, Jam's was the only venue that was taken off the list before it went to Council to vote. We don't know why we were excluded (after being invited to participate), especially considering we have perfect track record, fit the bill for this trial exactly by contributing to a diverse night life and providing late night food and activities. Anyway, great news is that the decision is required to go to public consultation. Here's where you can help - Please fill out the survey linked below, and have your say honestly about your views on the future of night life in Newcastle. If you feel that Jam's shouldn't be excluded from the trial, please make a note that you would like to see karaoke included in the late night trading trial. 04.01.2022 Pro tip: we have two different types of machines at Jam's - Joysound and DAM. The DAM machines are a little more focused on alternative music, punk, heavy metal, indie. Joysound has a lot more pop and the latest hits. Both types of machines have hundreds of thousands of songs but if you have a preference, leave us a note in your booking and we'll do our best to sort this out for your party (subject to room availability).
