The exhibition continues until 25th May.Opening hours Thurs- Fri- Sat- 10-5 and Sun 10-3. 20.01.2022 Visited the spellbindingly beautiful Scrovegni Chapel in Padua painted from floor to starry ceiling by the master Giotto in the 14th C --beats Leonardo da Vinci and his last supper hands down!

20.01.2022 Thrilled to have my book 'Changing Places Brisbane" accepted as one of the 20 Brisbane books from over 200 submitted for G20 delegates at Brisbane International Airport,

19.01.2022 Delighted to be a award winner in the Art of Excellence exhibition , Portrait section, with my portrait of Debbie Kilroy OAM. This is the first exhibition to be hung in the impressive new Redcliffe Art Gallery. Exhibition continues until Dec3. My friend Elizabeth Duguid also won an award in the Landscape category.

17.01.2022 I sat on Hamilton Hill for this view along Kingsford Smith Drive to dear old Newstead Park. Finished the sketch just before this big storm blew in. There are some amazing historic Brisbane homes along this stretch of the river including one beauty owned by an ancestor of mine Samuel Cameron, after whom Cameron Reserve was named. I picnicked there often when my son was little. This painting will be reproduced in the new third edition of my book 'Changing Places Brisbane' to be launched next month. Before that it is a finalist in the big Rotary Art Exhibition opening tomorrow night in Central Plaza 1, cnr. Queen and Creek Sts. Also in this show are a couple of paintings from visits to my beloved Venice and Cinque Terre.

15.01.2022 Today I've learned how to use Facebook so you will hear from me more often I hope!

14.01.2022 Dear friends I must apologise for lack of info on my Facebook page as you see I've been otherwise engaged. COMMISSION COMPLETED for LOURDES HILL COLLEGE'S 100th anniversary this year.... Painting title: 'Lourdes Hill College Hawthorne' - Oil on linen 72 x 102 cm. The most interesting aspect of the college, I felt, was from across the river. The school has a big emphasis on rowing and has a wonderful rowing club and function building right at the rivers edge. Many hours were spent at the Powerhouse sketching and checking the best light and time of day. Yes, its a tough life but someone has to do it. Limited Edition Fine Art prints are now available from the college, also the book 'Changing Places Brisbane' Special 100th year Edition with painting of college on the cover.

14.01.2022 My image of Heal Street Landlady, New Farm is now in Limited Edition Fine Art Print.

12.01.2022 Halfway to my solo exhibition in May at Lethbridge Gallery in Paddington I felt I’d better cancel . So glad I didn’t. Despite the gallery being Covid closed into the first week lots of you turned up - many queued on the footpath- to see the exhibition. It ended up being very successful so thank you to all visitors for your enthusiastic support and thank you to my wonderful patrons who bought paintings. It is an honour to have Vision Splendid Red Hill, the largest work, purchased by The State Library of Queensland for their Qld Memory Collection. They understand my passion for history and our collective sense of place. Simone and Brett and the Lethbridge team were professional as always.

11.01.2022 COMMISSION for BRISBANE GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL. Painting title: 'Brisbane Girls Grammar School' oil on linen 75 x 101cm. My old school, Brisbane Girls Grammar, commissioned a painting of the school for their 140th anniversary 2016. This one was certainly a challenge as most views of this lovely heritage building were obscured by trees. The Country Women's Association kindly let me roam through theunits and balconies of their building opposite until I was able to see the stru...cture more clearly. I reinstated a jacaranda tree which graced the facade when I was there, as it had for more than half a century before. My old art room just sneaks into the painting on the far left. Limited Edition Fine Art prints are available directly from me, but proceeds will benefit a new Bursary Fund to enable girls to enrol whose parents may struggle with fees, just as mine did. Rather satisfying, as a Shell Bursary helped me. See more

10.01.2022 Made it at last to Assisi n the awesome Basilica of St Francis- 13 th C- Giottos frescos wonderful.

09.01.2022 BRIGADOON - Have you heard of the mystical town in Scotland which appears once every hundred years ? There is a Brigadoon in Camp Hill. This painting 'Camp Hill Boys' is my mystery Brigadoon. DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS ? I only know it's No. 59 as I sketched it in a hurry on the way to lunch at Easts. We have searched Google Earth and driven every street in Camp Hill - we think. Two lovely Ray White real estate young men have also searched. No luck! I drew it in September 2016 and it is about 100 years old it should be there. You can see this painting at my exhibition and book launch at Lethbridge Gallery 136 Latrobe Tce., Paddington opening today 23rd July at 1-3pm til 9th August. Thursday-Sunday. Ph 3369 4790. Cheers, Jan

03.01.2022 Ive been preparing artworks for an exhibition and booklaunch. The Art Exhibition is all day from 10am - 4pm. You are all welcome. It is a thrill for us to see our two New Farm homes "Riverhouse" and Fernside" discovered at last and al...l my research now recorded for Brisbane's history. Otherwise we have been rather busy helping raise our son's 10 five week old Labrador puppies while he is at work! Just 3 weeks to go before they can hopefully find loving homes. They will be vaccinated & microchipped etc. We have 5 cream( dad is the exuberant gold lab) and 5 black (mum is a highly intelligent black lab) -5 girls and 5 boys. What adorable robust energetic little treasures they are_ but 10 -we are worn out!

02.01.2022 Nice to meet an old friend again. This pastel of a wedge tailed eagle was done in the far off days of 1980 just before I and sculptor Janna Pameijer established the Qld Wildlife Artists Society. Ten years of wildlife paintings and animal rescue changed with a move to inner city New Farm and the Brisbane paintings soon followed.
