23.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 26TH MARCH 2020 Message to all Clubs, Coaches and Members. In light of the recent announcements by the Australian and Queensland Governm...ents with regards to the COVID-19 virus including closing of venues, discouraging non-essential travel etc, The DDRSA Management Committee has made the difficult decision to introduce the temporary closure and suspension of all DDRSA activities until September 2020. The Management Committee will continue to monitor the situation and inform you as soon as we have an update on when normal operations can resume. As you would appreciate, with the strict guidelines in place, it has been a difficult, yet necessary decision that will be reviewed on a month by month basis until further advice is received from our governing bodies. What this will affect: - No club meet dates will be approved in this region before the 1st September 2020 - The DDRSA AGM will not be held until September October 2020 (Venue and date TBC) - The DDRSA Short Course Championships will be reviewed for a possible September October 2020 date (Venue and date TBC) - The DDRSA Annual reports will be added to the website by the end of May 2020 Many clubs, coaches and online groups are offering dry land training schedules to assist with swimmer fitness whilst facilities are shut. Please check with your individual coach or club so that an appropriate level can be started. Thank you all for your continued support and understanding during this difficult time. Please stay safe and follow the advice given to stop the spread of this horrendous virus.

21.01.2022 The Jandowae Swim Club committee for 2020/21 is: President - Jill Alexander Vice president - Amelia Wood Secretary - Nicole Holmes-Brown Acting treasurer - Christine Nelson until we can find someone else... Uniforms/Badges - Tanya Maunder Coach/official - Nicky Zellar Starter/official - Maree Taylor We are looking for someone to take over as Treasurer. Christine will help support someone learn the role this year before her kids move on. This is now a relatively simple job. Registrations are all done online via Swim Central and most money is direct debited online with the books already all set up for you. We are also looking for someone to take on the role of Mercantile relay coordinator. This is essentially delegating jobs for the Mercantile Relay. We are looking to change club night to Monday this year. A survey will go out to current members soon to allow parents to vote.

08.01.2022 Our first long course meet of the season is now up and available through Swim Central! Turbo Jets will be hosting this meet at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre, Herries... Street Toowoomba. This meet will be conducted under the covid plans as set by SQ, Toowoomba Region Council and Turbo Jets as the host. The venue has a NO SPECTATOR policy, so the meet will be closed to All Spectators other than approved coaches, team managers and Officials. The meet nominations will close midnight Sunday October 11 2020, and may close earlier based on numbers of swimmers. Entry fees are $5.50 per event. ALL NOMINATIONS ARE MADE THROUGH SWIM CENTRAL.

03.01.2022 The Jandowae Swimming Club AGM will be @ 3:15pm on Tuesday 18th August at the Jandowae Town Library. We would love to see as many existing and new parents as possible to keep the club running strong. This is your opportunity to shape when and how the club runs this coming season. We are always open to new ideas - this is a community club. Many thanks to Annie Cusack who has secured us a $2,000 grant from the Qld Government to contribute to new training equipment this season.
