23.01.2022 Heres a feel good story for everyone. Last week someone posted that some TVs had been dumped at a picnic ground near wron wron. I passed by their today and they where still there, so I picked them up and dropped them off at the recycling centre in traralgon. And just a reminder that we take E-Waste at the shop for a Gold coin donation to the computers for kids charity work that we do.

18.01.2022 Today we have another computer for the museum. This one I purchased in full working condition. Its a 386DX40 with 16megabytes of ram and a 500 megabyte hard drive. Running windows 95. Plus has some really cool old school games on it. Always remember when collecting old machines like this. To de-solder the onboard battery of the motherboard. Because at this age they are prone to leaking and will leak acid which will eventually destroy the motherboard.

17.01.2022 Computers saved from scrapping update. If you all recall the post from last Saturday about a microbee I was trying to save. I have had great success thanks to Wellington Shire council. Special thanks to Samantha for making this happen. I got permission to save the microbee and some vintage macs and picked them up today. And you wouldnt believe it. But in the mean time someone dumped a microbee 128k version there as well. So was able to ssve that too for my computer museum ... section. Awesome outcome. See more

So I have built this budget system with a graphics card and a solid state drive to specifically play minecraft and roblox. Its will play other less demanding games but have themed it for these games. 12.01.2022 Picked up another computer for museum section in the shop. Its a Lingo 128 with matching working green screen monochrome Lingo monitor. Also came with original manuals and software. This machine was early Apple Mac compatible and could also run on CPM operating system. It will be a great display piece.

12.01.2022 A gentlemen called Andrew who i can't thank enough for his donation to the museum gave me this excellent example of one of the rarest computers out there. A Osborne 1. And one that I personally have never seen in real life until today. He purchased it new in 1983 for the sum of $1795US dollars. Its the American 110volt model. So definitely won't be trying to turn it on, even though I have a step down power supply for it. Until the power supply has been checked out. He said that he tried to sell it a garage sale but no one wanted it. And that if I didn't want it. It would go to E- Waste. This is the perfect example of why I ask people to save these wonderful old machines as part of our computing history.

09.01.2022 This isnt computer related but last night a tornado carved a path of destruction through Toora. My shop video cameras captured the few seconds it crossed main street. Thankfully no one was injured or hurt that I know of.

08.01.2022 SAVE OLD COMUTERS Its a sad day for me today. While I was doing my E-Waste Recycling today, I spotted a Old Vintage Microbee Computer. This is one of the rarest Australian Designed and made computers in Australia. I have one in my museum section. I was not allowed to take this to save it and put in the museum as its against The Recycling centre policy. So I am asking everyone to please dont throw these old machines out. Let me save them and put them on display as part of ...our computing history. Give me a call and I will even pick up from you if you cant get to me to drop them off. Once these pieces are gone we will only ever be able to see them in books. See more
