23.01.2022 so its HOLIDAYS!!! As 2020 ends, we thank all our followers, clients, friends and family for the continuous & incredible support this year ( and every year). It was a tough one and we really appreciate you being here and supporting our small business.... We will be returning on Monday, 4th Jan 2021 to respond order requests and design proofs. In the meantime you may find our website getting another facelift ( yes i just cant stop tinkering with it) but it's all in an effort to make it more intuitive and user friendly. 22.01.2022 So here we are, from a bit of normality coming back to then be hit with postcode restrictions to stage 3 and now stage 4 restrictions. They say breathe, everything will be ok, we're all in this together, staying apart keeps us together. Yeah, right i get that and it is true as health and safety is always top priority but gosh it doesnt help hearing those phrases over and over again. Instead i wish i saw 30sec ads on tv where they gave me ...some ideas to keep my kids entertained, how do i manage a tantrum trio when my 3.5yo, 2yo and 6month old are all crying at the same time and how do i keep my sanity and actually breathe? teach me the juggle of motherhood and working at home. wouldn't that be more effective? anyway, heres a setup from my book of favourites! a gorgeous mermaid themed event with a custom velvet shell backdrop by @willowtreeevents so so gorgeous it brings back those happy day memories of when we all were in our element doing our thanggg. 21.01.2022 There are many types of decals out there. A decal by Definition is: A design prepared on special paper/Vinyl to then be transferred on to another surface. In other words, a decal is like a sticker, the decal itself is sandwiched between a paper backing and an adhesive transfer tape (ours is clear or semi opaque for balloons). By using a decal you get just the cutout of the text, once applied this gives a printed look. There is no clear backing or excess sticker material, its just the text/image and thats it. They are super easy to apply, look amazing and so satisfying to finish off your home organisation goals.

20.01.2022 Hi, i'm Jane, founding director of Jane & Co. Crafts. It's been way too long since i've introduced myself SO to all my new followers.. This. Is. Me. I'm 31, Australian born, chinese/malay, I graduated at RMIT with a bachelor of Engineering in electronics and telecommunications. I also hold a cert 3 in childrens services, first aid, cpr, anaphylaxis and asthma. When i was about 17 i did training in chinese medicine, cupping & gua sha, NLP.... To this day tho all but the Cert3 don't mean anything having been a decade ago but i like to think once upon a time i was able to absorb so much information before i was subjected to baby/mum brain. but dont get me wrong, i still love to learn. Prior to 2015, my husband and i were TTC and i was really depressed cause nothing was working and i had lost hope as years went by. I always found solace in arts and crafts so Jane & Co. Crafts was born as a form of art therapy for me. Thats where my passion in graphic design developed. I wanted to do a course but after i did all the above education i had no money to do another course so it was all self taught. I love lots of different things and im sure as you follow me you will discover what they are but for now, here are 10 facts about me. I'm a muslim convert (revert to all my sisters out there) since 2012 I have 3 kids, 3.5, 2, 3months Aadam, Amir, Aminah Im chinese malay, parents born in malaysia, grandparents from china. Aussie born. Fav flowers are Peonies Fav colour vibrant orange in general but also love pastels and muted colours. I love pasta! I love my 180sx ( jap car) totally into drifting. I use to play the flute and guitar. Wasn't very good at it tho lol I use to do Judo & Kendo, still miss it, find me a womens only class and ill be there. Im very much into anything sustainable, natural and organic. Paying for it is another thing but i do what i can, when i can. See more

18.01.2022 Heres to strong women: May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. Growing up as the youngest in the family always had me chasing the tail of my older sister. I always wanted to be better, ( key in Pokèmon theme song " i wanna be the very best, like no one ever was" ) but having that mentalitly meant i never felt good enough. My parents weren't the stereotypical asian parents that would push for perfect grades which was good i...n a way as it taught me how to be self motivated to reach my goals. Lately ive been telling myself its ok to have some down time, to be not as strong and to just be. Do i see myself as a strong women? Some days i do, some days i dont and i think thats ok. I hear of, see and get to be around strong women every day and its made me realise that they too have their down time, when they're not so strong and thats ok. See more

18.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how things are made? I remember watching docos on the Discovery channel when i was in year 9 (approx) and it was either about how cars were being built or how megastructures were constructed. I think there was also a segment on Totally Wild that showed how everyday items were being made on production lines like pencils or paints. I've always had a thing where i would look at something and always wonder how it was m...ade, disecting every possible step involved to get to the end product. I guess thats where i have a love for handmade items. The love and care that goes into every piece, the story behind each one, the unique variations and the story behind the hands that made it. 18.01.2022 I don't usual read end of year reviews but for some reason i had a look at this one at the end of 2017 by @thankyouaus It resonated with me then and continued to for the past 3 years but there's always a time and place for everything and in 2017/2018 i wasn't ready, physically and mentally. My business wasn't ready. My mind was racing with new ideas, new products, i was ambitious, but so was everyone else. I was caught in the rat race to try beat everyone t...o it so no one could say i "copied" "their" idea, i wanted to avoid the drama. But you know what? it's not about who does it first, its about who does it the best, who does a good job at it and who makes their clients happy. This was prob one of the biggest and hardest lessons in business i've had to learn to date but Its allowed me to slow down and not worry about what others are doing, if they beat me to it, if someone does something off my "ideas list" and just to focus on what i currently have available and making it 110% perfect before moving on to something new regardless if its been done before. As Erika from @thequeenofconfidence says, FWOT ( F#k what others think) you do u. For some reason everyone seems to be racing to grow quickly but with quick growth comes alot of challenges and big, sudden and costly commitments. It's always been my aim to grow slowly and steadily, so thats what i will continue to remember. So for 2020, Jane & Co. Crafts will not be bringing out anything new, rather we will be focusing on our current range and making it better. 10.01.2022 Welcome to Jane & Co. Crafts. . I started the business in Aug 2015. I wanted the business to represent me and everything i believe in so i named it Jane & Co Crafts as a play on my full name, Jane Ann Koh (Yes that eco cleaning company stole my last name! but its all good i love having a spray mop with my last name on it anyways lol ). . "Crafts" is a direct nudge to a vision i have for the business to one day provide super affordable crafting workshops and classes to every...one, from toddlers to adults, covering a range of activities and tutorials, giving parents specifically some time to themselves for a couple of hours. Yes im very well known to be as ambitious as this sounds, but im also well known to find a way to get it done. . Having experience as an educator looking after toddlers to school aged children, i came to realise that some parents struggle to figure out how to entertain their little ones, or find the help they need to have a few hours to themselves for some self love, OR to find someone besides a child to speak to in the flesh. Becoming a parent myself confirmed it. I want Jane & Co. Crafts to change that. . Don't get me wrong tho, it's not all about entertaining, bordem is good too as it nurtures the creative side of your little ones which helps with problem solving, quick thinking and resilience to name a few. 08.01.2022 our kids love pasta! well i do too but thats beside the point lol The problem with pasta tho, is we always have a bit of leftover which just isnt enough for everyone to have as a meal for lunch or dinner as a family, so every now and then we have a medley of pastas for dinner! what do you guys do with your leftover pasta? do you just buy the same pasta and refill or do you make a medley like we do?

08.01.2022 Some people fight so that the future generations have a better life. What lucky people they will be. Our ancestors fought to bring us what we have today and we think we are these lucky people of the future, but are we really? There are people out there that are dying while we sit with family and friends having tea and coffee next to heaters with a roof over our heads. It's all over the news, fabricated or not, we criticise it, we argue about it, we become divided because of ...it, but we don't do anything about it and turn our backs as if it were nothing. Are we going to stand up and fight for our future like our ancestors have or are we content enough to end it here. We are apart of this war whether we like it or not and if we don't do anything about it and live our lives thinking all is well, that it doesn't concern us and we're happy to leave this world in this state, there won't be a future for anyone. . 07.01.2022 It's more than just a "30" topper, it's a well thought out and designed topper. . Remember the massive 30 cake topper we made for @sutsacakebar 's amazing hand decorated 5 tier cake? (swipe across to see it!) . Well this is it, this is how we designed it to fit the top tier without it toppling over due to it's weight & size. It's a massive 30x30cm cake topper so thats just a bit smaller than 2 A4 sheets of paper side by side.... . The bottom bar serves two purposes, to bring the stakes in closer together to suit the small diameter of the top tier and also to lower its center of gravity so that its more stable once on the cake and the best part is, once on the cake you can hardly notice it. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia See more

04.01.2022 If you havent been following our stories, SURPRISE! we have moved houses! We were forced to moved because our landlord and his missus wanted to move in. Yes legally they couldnt evict us the way they did due to the Moratorium On Evictions but with Aadam starting kinder next year and stock i needed to replenish for Jane & Co. Crafts, it was better to move sooner rather than later. We are no longer in Delahey. Our new location is in Hopper...s Crossing. Next to Werribee Zoo!! When zoos open up you will definitely see us there every public holiday and weekend haha This would be the 3rd location our business has been located in tho and i really cant thank you all enough for sticking with me and coming along for the ride! 04.01.2022 Ordering a topper is pretty straight forward with us. All you gotta do is send us an email with the colour, font, and text. We then send you a proof and we go from there. We generally size our toppers to suit an 8" tier but we can make them any size, just let us know because sometimes we need to factor in a few things to make sure it doesnt topple over due to the size and weight of the topper. Design is also crucial in these instances. check out my next post for an example.

04.01.2022 packaging. Making the product is only one part of the process when you make an order, the most crucial part, i feel, would be the packaging. packing it well so it doesnt break in transit whether its being picked up or posted. A beautiful product is only good to the end user if they receive it in one piece!... This has been a trial and error process with us. Good, strong and sturdy packaging is not cheap. When asked how much postage is i sometimes get the " why is it so expensive" line but after breaking it down, explaining the costs involved with the materials i use to protect their goods, i get an assounding " ohh i see". With our acrylics we use to sandwich them between two boards of mdf. This was not only costly in materials but also heavy and something people didnt know how to reuse/recycle. We then found a cardboard company that made super thick cardboard that we have trialed for about 3 months now and absolutly love! it doesnt bend or flex in transit and not only is it lighter but cheaper too and easier to recycle! 03.01.2022 how big are the jars? i've been asked this so many times and here is my quick response.
