25.01.2022 We are LOVING seeing our new DanceArts uniforms on our Academy students as they come back to classes this week. Particularly cool (we weren't allowed to call them cute!) were our Hip Hop boys who basically steal the show wherever they go! Academy students can wear old or new - it's up to you!

22.01.2022 Classical Ballet is a wonderful foundation for all dance styles and DanceArts students can commence classes from 5 years of age. Our 5 year old students enrol into Beginner Ballet and our 6 year olds enrol into Primary Ballet. Many believe ballet to only be ‘slow’, however it also includes exciting jumps and leaps. While exercises are often repeated each week, students will also retain an element of self expressive freedom through the inclusion of creative exercises. ... DanceArts students are required to wear a uniform as it promotes the correct mindset for class, ensures the safety of movement and ensures all students feel equal in terms of attire. The uniform is available at the Welcome Desk from the 12th January via appointment - PM us for the booking link. 20.01.2022 Dance Magic is our signature program for 3 to 5 year old dancers. It provides dancers with the opportunity to express themselves within a fun, safe and caring environment. To share the love, magic and wonder of dance, scarves, tiaras, wands and musical instruments are used and children are encouraged to use their imagination and expand their creativity.... 19.01.2022 Congratulations to Level Six ballet students who had their Pointe test last night. Students are tested individually and need to demonstrate an understanding of correct alignment, ankle strength and flexibility, core strength and stamina.

18.01.2022 BE HERE NOW Our final new value for our new DanceArts chapter. We are here now. We focus on the present rather than fast forwarding the future. Celebrating childhood, we let kids be little and our experiences mirror the maturity of our students.

17.01.2022 While the office and studio have closed, little fun jobs are still being done in between naps, food prep and Christmas wrapping. And so, during our closure we will, from time to time, share some sneak peaks at what 2021 will bring! The first is a brand new edition to our calendar... a short Leadership retreat for senior DanceSteppers... during the retreat our invited young leaders will learn and contribute to our new vision, put forward ideas for the Academy performance the...me and help us plan another (yet to be revealed) event. After all DanceArts is their studio, and we are keen to help them lead the way. Dates and seaside location booked! Fun times ahead!

16.01.2022 We are thrilled to advise that our dance ‘fitness’ classes will resume on Tuesday 24th November 2020. Our team will construct a more comprehensive communication to ensure all your questions are answered when we meet again on Monday. Please watch this space as our communications will reach our Facebook group and member inboxes Monday afternoon. ... We thank you for your continued support, empathy and understanding throughout this difficult time.

13.01.2022 Sadly today is not our Academy performance after all. But you can wear your new DanceArts uniform anyway! We would LOVE to see you so share your pics in the JGDC community group and let’s be together from afar. Despite the obvious disappointment and frustration we are proud of each and every dancer. Proud of how you worked in rehearsals, proud of how you looked after each other, proud of how you grew. ... We are thankful to our creative teachers for their choreography and dedication - we are blessed by you all and the positive way you show up. Sometimes in life (often!) it is the ‘process’ not the ‘product’ where the true value lies. You may have heard the saying ‘the journey is often better than the destination’..... We’ve had a journey and it continues.... dance on we will! Let’s see your JGDC / DA pride! Rather than commiserate, let’s celebrate! We have each other - share your pics in the JGDC community group.

12.01.2022 Today is the last time I put on the Jane Grech Dance Centre uniform. JGDC started in 2006, the same year I had my first child. I have grown my two families side by side, watching them grow, strive, at times struggle, but ultimately thrive. I’ve poured in all my love, and I look back and feel proud. Just as my relationship with my children changes as they enter their teens, so has my relationship with my studio. ... What it, and I, stand for has matured over this time and I’m excited to continue to nurture and develop this in the coming years. This year, I’ve been afforded the time to look inward at how and who we want to serve. I have clarified what we are not as much as what we are. Community is what we yearn for. Belonging is what we need. It’s my hope and mission that DanceArts will be both these things. So, to JGDC I raise a glass (after class!) to you! You’ve almost broken me, you’ve grown me, you’ve made me sad, mad and glad, but most of all you’ve made me proud. Proud of all the lives we’ve touched through dance. I think of our past and present students often, they remain in my heart always and I wish them, and you all, a safe and blessed Christmas.

07.01.2022 A little bit excited for our Academy rehearsal tomorrow, and a little bit excited for our big reveal. It’s been a whirlwind of a term, fitting so much in after the ‘big pause’ but it was this exact pause that has led to the creation of our new future. One more sleep!

07.01.2022 R you excited about 2021 being our best year yet? In 2021 we celebrate our 15th birthday....and in doing so recognise that what got us ‘here’ isn’t going to get us ‘there’. Whilst honouring our past we will also be creating a new and fresh future!

06.01.2022 The plot thickens! What do the letters mean? Less than a week until we share our surprise... we’ve had some great guesses and some awesome questions so far. And yes.... it’s for the WHOLE studio, so that’s Club AND Academy students!

05.01.2022 Can’t wait for you to ‘C’ this all come together. Studios are pumping with joy as students prepare for their end of year performances... the first time in over 8 years both the Academy and the Junior dance Club have performed in the same term! It’s busy but so exciting!

03.01.2022 We continue to explore our Uniform colours for our students, and our ballet uniform in detail. Students wear their Level colour with Pride - it helps them connect and belong to their community, and they love advancing to the next colour every 2nd year (not every year as we know leotards can last longer than that!) Our Prep (7 year olds) and our first year Academy students (Level One) have always loved their dark purple leotards and look so grown up after wearing the pale blue and lilac in the levels prior.

02.01.2022 Our Junior Dance Club serves as a child focused, play based entry to dance classes for children 3 to 8 years. Children are taught in age appropriate ways where the foundations of correct technique are laid through gamification, repetition and teaching to the whole child.

01.01.2022 We have such a fun week in the Junior Dance Club celebrating the end of 2020 with ‘It’s a Party!’ We are so grateful to our dedicated team of teachers, our loyal and supportive families and of course our joyful and fun students! One more day tomorrow and then we will wrap it all up with a bow and call it done!
