23.01.2022 I HATE SELLING! There, I said it. There is nothing as awkward as feeling like a used car salesman in a shiny suit. But if youre not selling, youre not making money, honey. In saying that, you dont need to show up and be a hustler on your social media accounts every day to make a sale. Lets break it down:... Social media is marketing: a tool to make the sale easier. Use it to help inform your clients about your product or service and how they can access it and how it will change their lives. Use social media to address the frequently asked questions in your business. Help break down the barriers your clients have in their minds between where they are now and buying from you. Selling is service. Your clients *need* you in their lives! Whether you sell raincoats, coaching services, fancy teacups or massages. You have a product/service that makes your gorgeous clients lives more interesting, exciting and enjoyable. Let your clients and customers get to know you via social media. Were still humans selling to other humans so use your social to put a face to the brand and dont be afraid to delve into the passion and emotion behind your products. Use your social media to tell the stories behind your products. Tell the need you saw in the market and the gap that your product fills. Whether its glamorous gumboots or designer doggy duds, theres always a reason we come up with products for our unique niche. Tell the story! Humans are wired to relate to and remember stories much better than we remember "Buy this product its 15% off". When it comes to selling your product, course, service or membership tell your clients what their lives will look like after they have worked with you. People dont want to buy the plane, they want the destination. Promotional posts arent out simply scatter them amongst high value, informative, educational, interesting posts and when you do ask for the sale, invite your clients into your business, focusing on their needs rather than "THIS IS WHAT I DO". 23.01.2022 I have been v. quiet on my own social media channels this week while Ive been busy taking care of my clients socials! Its a bit like a builders house lol. I never take care of my own marketing as well as I take care of my clients... Oh yeah, that and home school..... How are your marketing efforts going in these "unprecedented times"? 23.01.2022 I have bedazzled my celebration of Fri-YAY this week because, let me just say, it has been a week and a HALF! But I made it, phew! It's been a full-on week with deadlines and HEAPS of work plus the kids have had days off school - two staff days, one day in iso as the hubster waited for a (negative) COVID test! Just one of those weeks where you're working your tail off and feel like you're not making progress! And breathe...... #shoutout to the gorgeous humans in my community who have reached out to check I'm OK in my absence from socials! I feel very loved. <3 It is appreciated. xxx
22.01.2022 If you know me, you know I just loooooove accounting. Not. This year I switched accounting software to Rounded and its brilliant! Australian and with the best customer service around (Michelle is so responsive there was a rumour with the freelancer crowd that she was actually more than one person lol). If youre a freelancer, tradie, sole trader or other self-employed human, I highly recommend.... #notasponsoredpost

19.01.2022 This is hands-down one of my favourite clarity call questions! I can practically see/hear the light bulbs going on in my clients heads. You mean I get to choose who I want to work with? Yes, lady, you do. You work for yourself so you are calling the shots.... Otherwise you are an employee in your business. Often when were starting out well work with anybody and everybody just to get going and this can become a habit that goes beyond the first year of business. Who do YOU want to work with? Who are your FAVOURITE clients? What kind of client really lights you up and helps YOU do your best work? Give them a shoutout! Id love to know.
18.01.2022 Whats your weird? If you know me you know Im a bit... Quirky. A bit... Awkward. I say things without thinking, I get overexcited and talk really fast but thats my method, my way of doing things. When people are buying from you their motivation is about more than your signature process, its about more than the amazing transformation that you facilitate for them, it is about the fact that they trust you to deliver that to them. Present your method, present your trust factor...s like testimonials and present the beautiful transformation they desire but most of all present YOU. Present you in a way that makes you shine, that you can be proud of and that connects and engages with your dream clients. Be authentic, be real, be you. Embrace your difference, ya weirdo, celebrate it and shine it out into the world. Whats your weird? I always ALWAYS say something totally awkward in my podcast and have learned to give my guests a heads-up so that they feel comfortable being totes awks also.
17.01.2022 Where do the conversions happen in your business? If youre selling high-ticket services they usually involve at least one human-to-human conversation. In amongst all the fancy funnels, dont forget to focus on creating the opportunity to have conversations. Its where the magic happens.

15.01.2022 Im really excited to be a mentor for the Startup Gippsland Program this year. We just had our first meet and greet for the East Gippsland region and heard from Merry People founder, Dani Holloway. Dani spoke about her amazing journey in growing her gumboot brand (drawing inspiration from her childhood in beautiful Gippsland). Some of the points that Dani raised are the conversations that I have with clients every day.... 1. There is no marketing magic bullet. 2. Consistency is key in marketing. 3. Knowing your customers intimately is crucial to getting your messaging on point. 4. To do this you need to have conversations and listen to your customers. 5. Keep going. Giving up is the number 1 cause of failure. 6. Enjoy it! The point of being in business is to create a positive impact on those around you and yourself. 15.01.2022 Whats your BIG goal? Not $20k months or 5 new clients... But your BIG goals, your lifestyle goals? I LIVE to travel (boo to you COVID). I LOVE holidaying with my hubster and my kids. I have grand plans to take my kids to Europe and to visit my family and friends in the UK then cruise back to Australia in the next 5 years (how good does that sound)? 14.01.2022 RUOK? I mean, are you *really* ok? When I had severe PND a conversation was the turning point for me. Thats all it took for me to realise that I was, most definitely, not ok. I missed the first year of my daughters life in a fog of severe depression and no one around me knew for 12 months. She was such a good baby, she slept through at 5 weeks, I felt I didnt deserve to feel like that. I plumbed the depths of the darkest places you can imagine.... Shame was a very real emotion for me when I had PND so never feel bad to reach out for yourself or to others. Mental health is nothing to feel ashamed about. Today and every day we need to look out for our mates. Lots of love Insta/FB fam bam. Today is about more than a hashtag. 14.01.2022 No matter who you are, no matter what you do, there is someone out there waiting for you to show up and change their life. I love working with my clients to create their unique, aligned vision and to commit to it. We work through their values, their dreams, their vision and describe and define how they want to design their life then we reverse engineer how their business is going to help them facilitate that.... Being self-employed doesnt mean being an employee in your own business for less than you would be paid in a regular job. Whats the point? To create a fulfilling business you need to strip it back to its core and re-build it based on your aligned vision. Then execute in your unique way. Give yourself permission to not follow the cookie-cutter methods that are touted in your industry. Give yourself permission to show up and shine your weird, really bright. Give yourself permission to take the risk and be completely individual in your approach and create unique outcomes for your clients. Give yourself permission to show up in your authentic voice in every thing that you do. Give yourself permission to break free of the stereotypes that have been created in your industry. #permissiongranted

04.01.2022 Whats your next goal in business? Goals are super important to me and Im always striving to achieve the next one, then the next and celebrating with rewards along the way. Tying rewards to goals, no matter whether the rewards are tangible or time, are a great way to keep the forward momentum and the vibe high when youre working for yourself. Its all about motivation. I also said farewell to a branding client (website is coming next), had my first @startupgippsland mentoring call which was sooooo good (totally #myhappyplace) and welcomed two gorgeous new clients. Woo hoo! What is especially fun about these new clients is we had an absolute hoot in our briefing calls which always makes for an extra-fun working relationship.
