25.01.2022 Partition wall for a brand new Renault Master van. This is the second of 3 to do. We put marine carpet on the drivers side. The stepped wall allows full front to back adjustment of the drivers seat and more than enough tilt space for a power-nap.

21.01.2022 We designed, engineered, fabricated and installed this galvanised access staircase recently. The block is on an angle to the building and with the small shed to work around this was the only way to fit it in and be inside relevant standards. Not only is it very functional it looks the goods and will last a very long time.

19.01.2022 Custom gates? We recently completed this house frontage with some steel and timber picket gates. Steel framed automatic driveway gates and pedestrian access gate with letterbox, electronic security latch and keypad entry. Powder coated finish. (The dirty hand prints on the wall aren’t ours!)... Another happy customer! We have some other exciting gates on the go at the moment so keep an eye out for something a little unusual on the next one. If you need some new gates get in touch with us, we would love to bring your ideas to life just like this.

19.01.2022 This one took some serious working out. This client had a shared driveway alley and an offset block as well. How to get a gate for security and privacy with no straight line for a sliding gate and no room for a swinging gate? A custom turning sliding gate, the first we have ever designed. The folded infill panels with an industrial look was the other part of our design brief. Although this particular gate only needed to turn 6 degrees over its 6m opening it could turn a full ...90 degrees in another scenario. Think sliding gate across a street frontage on a narrow width block...One advantage here is cars can be parked either side of the gate without the need for clearance for swinging gates. This also means the entire frontage could be opened up for access rather than needing dead space on one or both sides as per a traditional sliding gates. This design sees the gate end up perpendicular to the road along the sides of the block! If you need a gate solution that’s a bit out of the ordinary, give us a call on 0447 336 476.

18.01.2022 We would like to introduce our newest piece of equipment into Janes Engineering HQ. We have just installed and commissioned our CNC plasma table. 3000x1500mm bed, able to cut steel, stainless, aluminium, copper and brass from 0.5mm up to 25mm thick. We can now CAD design, cut and engrave parts for our clients efficiently and repeatedly while also being able to build new products in house and perform rapid prototyping. To discuss your cutting requirements please get in contac...t with us today! cncplasma metalart newtoydisguesedasworkstuff

16.01.2022 Project pics of some feature fencing we are creating for a job down by the sea. More going in tomorrow and finishing touches next week including some automated driveway gates.

15.01.2022 Custom automated gates? This is a recently completed commercial job we did. Our client wanted a beefy look and angle profile ‘pickets’ which we were able to achieve using 75x50 unequal angle. Built to suit the slight fall in the block (0.57 degrees!) Total weight of approximately 1600kg with a 4m clear opening automatic sliding gate. All installed by us. For your custom fencing and gates give us a call on 0447 336 476.

13.01.2022 Hot off the press. A batch of aluminium equipment lifting boxes. These bad boys will be on their way up some wind turbine towers soon. Saves carrying the tools up I guess! Designed, engineered and tested in house and now ready to go. Get in touch with us if you need aluminium, steel or stainless steel fabrication done.

11.01.2022 Been a while between posts but this is luckily due to being very busy rather than the alternative. Currently working on some large drag chain conveyors for a client, one 17m long the other 19m long. This job is part of a large project which is being set up as a prototype prior to building the whole lot again new and shipping them overseas for a new site. Exciting times. New ones being built in Australia from Australian steel using local labour. The way it should be!... These sprockets were flame cut, match drilled, machined, flame hardened and then split (to make changeover easier when the time comes) First truckload of equipment leaving the workshop tomorrow with the rest to follow soon.

10.01.2022 Just a sneak peak at some custom perforated aluminium fencing and gates we are currently fabricating. More to come...

09.01.2022 Proud to say I'm back here again but as a spectator this time. Our Apprentice, Sam, is being named Federation University Australia -Apprentice of the Year tonight. Well done mate.

07.01.2022 It’s almost Father’s Day but there is still time to order one of these trick collapsible fire pits. Get in quick if you want one!

07.01.2022 A few pics of a smaller scale structural steel job we are working on at the moment for a client. This was all drawn up in house on CAD before being fabricated and galvanised. Timber framing to go in next then we will be back to complete our part after that.

06.01.2022 Took some setting up but saves many hours. 1502 holes to cut through 75x75x3 SHS.

05.01.2022 Front rack for a customer's work vehicle. Fitted on a weekend as he works away during the week.

04.01.2022 Some additions to a customer’s aluminium canopy that we recently did. Roof rack Fold up ladder Wheel carriers to suit the 35’s We also fitted internal shelving, dividers, fridge and slide, water tank, 12v oven and awnings. ... This left the shop and drove straight up to Cape York for a test out. Another happy customer! See more

04.01.2022 It’s been a while between updates as we have been busy as usual! Proud to be involved in an ongoing project which is now designed and made totally inside Australia (and almost all in Ballarat as well) Over the years we have worked on a number of these units which were imported and sent to us to be fixed up and made right. These new units are now all Australian made. Two large drag chain conveyors assembled in the shop prior to being split down and sent out. One at 17m long and another at 19m.
