21.01.2022 TOKYO LAUNCHES NEW BRAND IDENTITY The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has created a new logo and slogan, Tokyo Tokyo Old Meets New, to promote the city. The brushstroke of Tokyo and Gothic block typeface of Tokyo represent the originality of the city, where traditions dating back to the Edo period (1603-1867) coexist alongside the cutting-edge culture of today.... The tradition is expressed in black ink, while the new Tokyo is expressed in blue, like the sky spreading forward to express the innovative future. To give some playfulness, the logo also includes a traditional stamp that shows the one of Tokyos newest sightseeing landmarks, the Shibuya scramble crossing.

19.01.2022 ISHIKAWA PREFECTURE Ishikawa Prefecture stretches long and thin from south to north, and is located roughly in the center of the Japanese archipelago, jutting out into the Sea of Japan. In Noto, you can enjoy contrasting coastlines. The northern coast has been severely eroded by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan, while the southern coast of the bay is mild. Kaga is characterized by the mountains that surround the highest peak, Mt. Haku-san. Rivers flowing down from the moun...tains formed plains where cities flourish. Kanazawa is the center of the government, economy, and culture of the prefecture. It is renowned for its unique dyed silk called "Kaga-yuzen," gilded crafts known as "Kanazawa-haku," Kutani-yaki pottery, and many other traditional crafts and local specialties. It is also famous for delicious, fine-textured seafood, as they are buffeted by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan. Crabs in the winter, in particular, are a specialty of Ishikawa.
