25.01.2022 Dangerous Waters Cross at your own peril!... Everything you read on crossing Fingal Spit to get to the Port Stephens Lighthouse on Fingal Island says DON'T DO IT by foot or by 4WD ... To cross you need to start walking toward the spit 1 hour before low tide, and only cross if there is no water at all flowing across the spit. Then you have to return prior to any water covering the spit again. It doesn't leave much time! Reading this advice and the enormous sign that reinforced this message I decided to admire the spot from the dunes that look down on the spot. As I sat and admired the view along the spit toward Fingal Island I watched a procession of people, some with young kids, attempting this crossing with water stills across the spit. They had all also walked past a sign near the Lifesaving Club saying the beach was closed do to Shark sighting!!! Go figure! 25.01.2022 Aussie Icon Post 1 of 3 - I was blessed recently to get up close and personal with this Aussie icon. After a sunrise shoot at Zenith Beach in Port Stephens region this beauty, its mate and their fledging spent some time in the Applewood trees above the carpark picnic area, hunting morsels in the lawn. ... I love these birds and having them hang around in the trees just above me, watching bemused at myself and the other humans staring back was a moment to remember. So many times I have spotted these birds and they instantly take flight, not this day! 25.01.2022 Silhouette The profile of the Warrumbungles looms on the horizon as a silhouette in the morning light! I love this view and this time of year makes it all extra special and the wild flowers light up the landscape with their vibrant colours. The day before this shot was markedly different with clear skies, which I call boring skies! Clouds add so much visual texture!! ... Mind you the cragginess of the volcanic remnants of the Warrumbungles provides some great texture! Do you like these kinds of silhouettes? 24.01.2022 Golden Sunrise Early morning, golden sunrise, cloudless sky, still and golden waters and some fabulous company... This morning will be one that I have committed to memory as it was truly magical. Still reflective waters, a deep golden sunrise breaking across the horizon behind me, and although cloudless, a sky that held such deep colours reflecting off the surface of the water. ... And a pair of pelicans drifting gracefully across the surface close to the beach in search an early morning snack! 23.01.2022 I have been very remiss and haven’t posted for about a month. Instead of pushing/copying my Instagram posts I wanted to do something a bit different on face book! So here is a flashback to a snowshoeing photography trip to Perisher ski fields that I have very fond memories of, and rekindled my love of photography!

23.01.2022 The Drip... walk into an ancient and dramatic landscape that is culturally significant to the Wiradjuri people... The Goulburn River National Park is the home of The Drip. You walk along the Goulburn River with souring sandstone cliffs on your left as you follow the path to The Drip. Ferns and weeping grasses hang from the walls along the way and clear spring waters drip and seep through the formations of the rock walls. Particularly after a couple of da...ys of rain, so timing is everything. In summer it can be 10 to 15 cooler in the gorge than in the surrounding National Park. The walk is a 2.8 kilometre return trip, 5.6 kilometres in total that has short steep hills and occasional steps. . . . #visitmudgeeregion #thedrip #goulburnrivernationalpark #visitmudgee @mudgeeregion #LoveNSW #nswparks #nswnationalparks #nswaustralia #visitnsw #nswgetaways #discovernsw See more

23.01.2022 I have spent the last week enjoying the photographic delights of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria! Those pics are to be shared in the next few days! But today was reserved to the culinary delights of the region! Spent a lovely afternoon at Red Hill Estate Winery with a wine flight and matching food experience! Great atmosphere and hospitality!

22.01.2022 Pretty close to the death knock I have made a last minute decision to enter the stories competition, which is part of The Australian Photography awards. Sometimes you just have to have a go at something you've never done before, how knows what the outcome will be!

22.01.2022 | Solitude | A lone safety beacon stands in the stormy waters of Port Phillip Bay on the Mornington Peninsula, in Melbourne. These are some of my favourite days... I love days when natures elements come together in a tumultuous way. This day was putting on its best show with sunshine behind me lighting up the surf, and storm clouds heading towards me as the wind whipped up the sand around me. Strangely I find a sense of peace as I sta...nd in awe of the elements at play before my eyes. Gear and settings.... 22.01.2022 Gum Swamp or Forbes Wetlands - this day I stood for a while and watched this Black-winged Stilt (Himantopus leucocephalus) wade through the shallows, occasionally dipping its head to investigate the the still waters of the swamp looking for tasty morsels beneath the shallow surface. 21.01.2022 | This is no picnic | Years apart from the image I just posted yet the weather is attempting to relocate the same conditions... Again this day was putting on its best show with sunshine behind me lighting up the surf, and storm clouds heading towards me as the wind whipping up the sand around me and across the beach in front of me. 19.01.2022 | The ever winding road | Healy Pass on the Beara Peninsula Scenic Drive, on Irelands Wild Atlantic Way, County Cork Ireland....Who's travelled this road too? This is another step back in time for me when I did a 21 day tour of Ireland. The sight of this road, which we were about traverse had me completely captivated. I also was very blessed to know that I rarely get motion sickness, and was hoping that that was going to continue to hold true as we descend...ed from this vantage point. 18.01.2022 I’m currently in Tasmania and just left Bruny Island and now settled into the Tasman Peninsula for the next day and a bit! One of the big highlights was sunrise at The Neck yesterday morning! I pretty much had the look out to myself... but the highlight was the drive their from Killora... on the way I encounter over 20 Eastern Quolls, Bandicoots, Possums and wallabies along the way! 17.01.2022 SUCCESS Recently I was asked to dig into, and describe what success looks like for me! My immediate reaction was to go totally blank, not the best start! I've helped others to this but had never turned the microscope on myself... yikes! So, I felt though the concept and then dug deep, I must say it was a bit of a water shed moment as I had never really defined it for myself in real terms. Let alone measured it! Have you defined success for yourself? Li...fe has many facets to it, so how would you measure your success? So, this is where I got to and what bubbled up as the most important thing for me... this is all in the context of taking a few leaps of faith lately, including moving interstate and into a regional town, starting a new job, and embracing the world of social media! So, I am committing to building new and strong networks and communities across all facets of my life, including in my new region, my new job, and within the people who choose to follow me via social media. To do that I will overcome my shyness and show up and share facets of me, sufficient enough for you to get to know and trust me, my passion for photography and who I am as individual and what I stand for. On Instagram that means sharing with you everyday images that hopefully bring joy to your day. These will be complemented by the odd story and interrupted by the occasional thought bubble on things I feel I need to share my thoughts on, just like this. If this is something you are not into, then it's nice to have known you for the time we have been connected. If this is something you ARE into, fantastic, let's enjoy this ride together! @therichcoach @thetravelbootcamp #basecamp2020 See more

15.01.2022 | I could get lost here | Clogher head and grotto with Ceann Sibéal (Sybil head) in the distance, Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry Ireland.... 14.01.2022 | Get out there | Sometimes its tempting to be a fair whether photographer... who wants to get rained on right!! This was an amazing day and in true style the Victorian weather did its best to show me all four seasons. The day started with these ominous storms clouds and a blustery wind. I had to give myself a good talking to, to even step foot outside the front door, let alone get in the car and then brace myself for the hike down to this beach. Knowing ...that there was good chance I was going to get wet, and hopefully avoid getting zapped by lighting! Sometimes our minds tell us stories that try to convince us not to do things, particularly when there is a prospect of unpleasant feelings or experiences. But having the courage to let those stories pass, just like storm clouds, can result in some amazing experiences. This was one of those for me! The power of the wind, seas and the electricity in the air made this an exhilarating experience. Gear and settings....
