25.01.2022 Kill the hills or be killed A forced break from running for a few weeks as of tomorrow only meant one thing.....find a quiet hill in the middle of whoop and leave everything out there!! #trailtalon250 #grip #runstrong #ocr #wtm2017 #barefootinc #inov8 #lululemon

25.01.2022 A bit of fun, actually a lot of fun was had at the Augusta Adventure Fest on the weekend! So good to have a quality event on my doorstep, an event the whole family can be involved in! Good times Looking forward to setting some adventure racing goals for 2017....I've got the bug

25.01.2022 Everyone has a great "Post Spartan Race story" under their belt, I was not very open in spilling mine to Matty Murphy that afternoon;-) The awesome community that surrounds Spartan is why I race/participate. If I didnt have fun/let my hair down then I certainly wouldnt continue to endure the 8-10hr travel time just to get to an event. What will your story be after Perth??? See you beyond the finish line AROO

25.01.2022 GOOD LUCK Team Australia repping at the OCRWC this weekend! Gutted I can not be there with you, enjoy the experience, race strong and look forward to following you all

24.01.2022 Wow 3yrs already, a lot of Spartan races since then. This was 'trials' for the World Champs team heading to Vermont!!! With only 2 OCR events under my belt at this point the 4hrs spent up and down those muddy hills carrying or dragging heavy shit for what felt an eternity was certainly an eye opener! The fun hasn't stopped since

24.01.2022 Semi Finals here we come. Make sure you tune in Channel 9 Tue/Sun/Mon to catch all the action. It gets a whooole lot tougher #NinjaWarriorAU #semisaction

24.01.2022 Fun times ahead over the next month Spartan is coming back to Perth I’ve decided to complete the trifecta, I’m yet to complete a trifecta weekend so why not tick it off the list! Looking forward to watching the epic showdowns in the APAC Beast Championship Race on the Sunday. I’ve been swinging like a monkey more than running these days but not to worry as that will serve me well for the fun to be had in December

23.01.2022 Been a little quiet on the ‘athlete’ front of late Full race review coming shortly. Epic event

23.01.2022 Day 2 of the #spartanraceau Perth APAC Series Championship Event saw me complete my first Trifecta Weekend I woke up stiff and sore from the heavy cramps on day 1 and thinking how am I going to get up those hills again? I started off well back in the pack, the body felt heavy and found I couldn’t even punch up the small inclines! I decided to cruise and walk as my body wanted (screamed) thru the first half of the race knowing it was full of solid climbs and ankle busting de...scents. I wanted to make sure I had fuel in the tank for the 2nd half which was a lot more obstacle heavy and was not willing to cop burpees The plan seemed to work well, I felt I got stronger in my running as the race progressed and started to overtake a few. I went into each obstacle feeling good (burpee free) Jade was at the bucket carry and told me I was 3rd, I had no idea! I watched 2nd drop for a few burpees and I new I could take it. The final barb wire crawl with torsion bar was simply excruciating my forearms and elbows were sooo sensitive and scratched up from the previous day I just wanted to cry. I came up with blood all down my forearms, saw 2nd on burpees at the rope climb and seized the moment to jump up a place, blood forgotten. Swimming thru the final dam I had a big smile as I heard the song ‘Smooth Criminal’ Annie are u ok, are u ok Annie? (My nickname is Annie) Out of the dam to the final cargo net crawl, it was the one thing I was dreading all day with being so cut up I saw Jake struggling and sore also, I yelled at him to hang on and let’s do this together, great way to finish, thanks Jake I certainly wasn’t expecting a podium finish today with all the big guns showing up for the final race of the championship series, so super proud of my A big congrats to all the podium placers and weekend warriors alike, volunteers you were amazing (flys), Paul epic courses and Max and Chris for pulling it all together. Barefootinc thankyou for letting me trial an awesome pair of #inov8s, these were the bomb, stay tuned 2018 release. Great to watch a few of my Margie’s buddies taking on their first Spartan also, legends Home to rest and heal the cuts and bruises before Ninja next week #mumwholovesadventure #moceanfitness #spartanapac #trifectadone #justanotherdayinwa See more

22.01.2022 6mths post ACL Knee Recon surgery I had given myself a goal to be able to comfortably run for 60mins with no pain! 1wk shy of the 6mth mark and I successfully ticked that goal Happy days

22.01.2022 Can't wait to see the end product

21.01.2022 Impromptu 'ring your shirt out' sorta session!! #spinbike Legs feel much better

21.01.2022 Oh where it all begun.....that was one brutal trial!! Matt Murphy you seem to be a constant in my life.......a 'constant giver' of pain and challenge!!! Search4Hurt, Spartan, Obstacle Course Training, Ninja Warrior. Thankyou for always pushing me to bring out my best:-) http://vimeo.com/101904499

20.01.2022 Yep i'll admit Im feeling every muscle in my body today but I wouldn't have it any other way;-) Perth Trail Series put on another great event yesterday in the beautifully rugged and scenic trails of Jarradale/Serpentine National Park, the Truth or Consequence 50/25/10km. I took on the 25, downgrading from the 50 after a very 'quiet' few months. Smart move! Since the Enduro in June i've managed to run a TOTAL of only 50km in the last 8-9 weeks and some weeks not even getting ...a run in!!! Hmmm how was I expecting to get through the challenge of this course? The pics show a few victims and their blood! Driving 3hrs to the start line I had plenty of time to either turn around or just accept my lack of prep and just run, just cruise and enjoy every moment, all whilst hoping I would find the 'fire' in my belly again! Cruising along at the 8ish K mark Im ticking along up an incline (there was quite a few) and as i passed a lady she comments "Nice Cadence"....what a weird thing to say I thought to myself... I politely said thanks and threw some encouraging words her way and carried on up the hill. For the short time after this encounter I really pondered on her words. It made me realise how much I truly trusted my base I have built over the years and also how important it is to get out of your head and just run with what feels natural. I hadn't even thought about what my feet were doing, simply one in front of the other, that was about as technical as I was going to get! From an 'athlete' point of view, overthinking can truly psyche us out before we even get to the start line - trust me I nearly hit the snooze button yesterday. But even as a recreational runner we are pretty good at doing the same!! How many times have you told yourself "I couldn't possibly do that! Its too far! Its too hard! I don't have the strength!" Sound familiar?? Our bodies are sooo much more capable than what our minds like to tell it! Get out of your head and give that event (or whatever it may be) a good crack, who cares if you have to walk for a bit, you're doing it still, right? I guess my point is.... If you are someone that is always waiting to be 'ready' then quit that train of thought and jump, I can guarantee you that mostly the time will never feel right!!! If I hit my snooze button yesterday I would have missed the brutal climbs that turned into a bear crawl for most(thanks Barefootinc #terraclaw250), or the soothing sounds of cascading waterfalls, the trickery of technical descents or the speed of fast downhill fire-trails. Yes my legs turned to 'moosh' at the 20k mark and I struggled those last 5 home but I did it with a smile as I was proud I listened to my gut to "just bloody do the event" and not my head that wanted that snooze button!!! I hope to see you on the next start line:-) See more

20.01.2022 Good to be swinging again, so happy after months of a 'dicky' shoulder my strength hasn't gone too much! Solid rehab work and regular massages to stay loose has helped immensely. Now to build on this and face new and exciting challenges ahead!! #monkeydrills #gripstrength Stress Less Bodyworks #barefootinc

20.01.2022 It's that time again!!! Time to put the mind to work The mind is far more powerful than ones body! I look at this photo and see the pain, the discomfort, the bewilderment, the perseverance....not only with the battle going on in my head 18+hrs deep but the battle against the elements Frosty breath, rosy cheeks, ice forming on my clothes, yep it was colder than anything I had experienced! When I first saw this Picture Scott had captured my thoughts were 'omg that is horrible, not my finest angle' But as time has passed, this single picture speaks so much to me and I will treasure the memories from that brief glance down Scott's lens forever! Well atleast until he takes another 'ugly' shot of me

20.01.2022 Loving the live feed from OCRWC Goodlyuck to all my Aussie buddies battling the slippery conditions Looking forward to getting back on the big stage soon. OCRWC just keeps going up a notch each year From my first time competing in 2014 this event has exploded

19.01.2022 With the excitement of Ninja Warrior finally hitting our shores in Australia and to be aired on Channel 9 early next year, I decided to channel my own inner Ninja! Ninja Academy in Perth is an amazing facility that features many of the obstacles we have seen on the show! This was just a last minute clip of a few standard obstacles at the end of a tough 2hr session!! Hands were on fire, still on fire! I kind of sucked at a lot of the obstacles, big learning curve on mastering the technique to get you thru as muscles just ain't enough Look forward to watching the show next year! Until then....I'll continue to practise at this fun facility, what a find

19.01.2022 Check out Australia's very first Ninjas Catch all the action from 9th July on Channel 9 #NinjaWarriorAU

17.01.2022 A last minute appearance at the OCR 24hr Enduro World Champs was well worth it!! Not because I was part of the most amazing team that took out 1st place!! It was worth the last minute organisation scramble because these types of events and the people that surround them literally BREATHE LIFE BACK INTO YOU! Racing or even just participating has not been happening much for me over the last 12mths and thats totally fine as family and business are bloody important to me and my ...number 1. So when the opportunity arose to become part of Team Unsung Enduros just two weeks out from event day I couldn't say no as this event was not getting out of my head over the last 6mths!! So thankyou Team for making the trip logistically EASY. And thankyou OCR Community for being that awesome 'vibration' that seeps inside of you and flows through every aspect of your being! 17.01.2022 Super excited to be part of Adelaide's inaugural Spartan Race tomoz ( I truly hope its here to stay for SA) As much as I'm pumped to race again (it's been 6mths Spartan) I also know I'm far from race fit! The last 3mths have been very subdued on the training front, it's been a time of recuperation, healing niggles, catching up on 11yrs of broken sleep and taking the foot off the pedal that's been planted for over 3yrs!!! I feel great on the inside, never felt happier, I may n...ot be at my best physically at this point but I also know it won't take me long to get it back. So why am I here??Good question, well the stars aligned for a weekend away with my hubby in SA with no kids. Couldn't not race So tomorrow Spartan, please don't kick my arse too bad as I will be taking on that 14km with my smile and pure gratitude, as tomorrow (just like every other event) is all about the fun and catching up with all the crazy cats that make up the OCR community See you all on the start line See more

16.01.2022 Get on board guys! This is where it all began for myself.... Search4Hurt - Hurt Camp was the catalyst for great things that have come my way since. Now its your chance to be tested and led by one of the best our country has to offer, Matt Murphy and the man himself Andrew Papadopoulos, this guy took on everything Matt threw at him that night and has gone on to do AMAZING things! You will not regret this experiece!!

16.01.2022 Enjoying a rest day....although they always seem to still involve activity Couldn't resist a beer, just made sure my food was 'clean'Great day on the river

16.01.2022 Yet another epic experience on this awesome ride of life https://thewest.com.au//ninja-mum-ready-to-tackle-all-obst

16.01.2022 Im a time poor Mum to 3 active young girls! As they have grown older, they have now become a part of my journey. Alot of my training is unstructured, it really is based around having fun and mucking around with my girls:-) Im just lucky they are little monkeys with a good competitive streak to keep me on my toes;-) See you on the start line in November!

15.01.2022 Arriving in Sydney today my body was flooded with that pre-race tingle, something I haven’t felt for some time. I’ve been a little quiet on the race front for the majority of 12mths with family and business priorities taking hold. As 2017 drew to and end I set myself two big goals for 2018 and registrations for them were swiftly done to cement them in my plan! But as the year started I began to see these two goals slip through my fingers. The first was Toughest Mudder held in... QLD last month! I didn’t get there and the total FOMO feelings saw me switch off from social media for that weekend!! Tomorrow I will once again tackle the 24hr Obstacle Enduro event. Having only booked flights 5 days ago this one almost got away from me also! Now that I’m here (and let me tell you it’s been an effort) I am so so excited! I don’t necessarily think the excitement is the fact this year the event has become the long course World Championship event and I get to race with quality international athletes. I think the excitement is more the fact of getting to test myself on the course that saw one of my biggest achievements to date. In 2016 I won this event, covering 122km and 330 obstacles in 11 laps, setting the course record. All in temps that hit as low as -3 (I hate the cold) and with a training load that saw my run no longer than 15kms in the 4mths prior! This event proved how much our mental grit matters!!! So here I am again seeking redemption after pulling out in 2017 in the lead at the 8hr mark as a chest infection took hold in the ridiculously wet conditions. 2018 what will you have in store for me? All I know, regardless of who is on the start line, ultimately I know I am just racing myself once again to better those 11 laps! I may not be ‘race fit’ but I am certainly ‘life’ fit and if you’ve seen my life in a week then I think I will be ok So bring on tomorrow I can not wait to see all my OCR buddies Its been way to long! See more

15.01.2022 Heading to the heat So excited to 'show up' for Spartan season opener I'll be sure not to give up as I melt on the mountain

15.01.2022 I've only been to this awesome facility a few times....totally buggered in such a short space of time....definately walk away wanting to come back and conquer each obstacle just a little more

14.01.2022 Keeping watching the journey....what a ride it has beenThankyou Channel 9 and #NinjaWarriorAU

14.01.2022 I think I may have created an awesome space for an Australian Ninja Warrior return

13.01.2022 Feeling extremely grateful right now to have spent an amazing (hot) weekend on the GC for the Spartan season opener! I was never sure my body would actually be ok to conquer those damn hills but happy to say I held up great, a blight no racing since last June! A little bit of race fitness, more kms in the legs and learning how to go into the 'hurtbox' once again and then I'll be back to 100%. A third placing in the Elite Super was more than what I expected Heat, hills (believe we climbed for almost 2km) and then belted down, slippery rocks, creek wades (but just wanted to wallow) and all the usual obstacles in a new location made for an amazing race. Thankyou Spartan and to all the amazing crew I shared the experience with #makingmemories

12.01.2022 Spartan Sprint Aussie Titles...no racing for me today as on the comeback from multiple injuries, so a little bit of family fun today. My kids did a great job over getting some of the action! Fantastic course one again Paul & Max

11.01.2022 Weekly tune up time

11.01.2022 Road trips done right A little prep and avoid the lure of Unsatisfying junk!!

11.01.2022 Having some fun with two of my girls, training doesnt always have to be blood, sweat and tears;-)

10.01.2022 Wow True Grit Enduro the weather man turned it on big time! The course was muddy, flooded and tough! Water levels kept rising thru the nite and Muddy Mile was hard going. I played the hand I was dealt in this race, with an average prep the start line seemed enough. I cruised thru 4laps in the first 8hrs and up front , by the end of the 4th I was suffering with my chesty cold and came off course at 10pm! The nite saw me in the warmth of my car playing the battle in my head should I get out again in the morning??? Thankfully I listened to my body and didn't fight the gurgle in my lungs! So good to watch everyone fight their limits and so glad I invested in a sparkly set of $12 gumbootsHome to my babies and a warm bed

10.01.2022 It's coming #NinjaWarriorAU

10.01.2022 The best thing about still competing as a 'mature' athlete and a Mum is....inspiring your kids to put themselves out there #comfortzonesmashed #countrykidinthebigsmoke #experience

10.01.2022 The first 50 to take to the Ninja Warrior course. I have never been surrounded by such a strong, fit, humble group of humans. You all rock and for those I got to know a little better, thank you for sharing the experience and I hope you get to enjoy the show with your family and friends Tonight!!! #goninjas #NinjaWarriorAU

10.01.2022 Who doesn't like to take on the 'Heros' on a Sunday morning? 09.01.2022 Epic day out at #spartanraceau Perth APAC Trifecta weekend. I decided to complete my first trifecta and so glad I took on the challenge. Started with the Sprint, 8km of calf busting climbs and some new obstacles which were fun Not sure I like the tight cargo net crawls thou.....well at least the burns on my back dont With minimal run training in the mix over the past few months I was certainly not expecting to come away with my 1st place A short 30min rest to refuel and ba...ck on the start line for another 15km! The Super Race was certainly a step up from the sprint, new obstacles added in and climb climb climbs, the farmers carry was a killer....1 heavy sandbag and 1 20ltr drum filled to the brim with water, solid incline ....brutal The heat was tough, I was taking on lots of fluids but couldn’t control the cramping, jumping actions got harder as my calf’s just locked up, I completely seized before the zigzag traverse wall, I think I had tears in my eyes holding on for dear life as burpees were not on my to do list! This took me to the monkey bars and after cruising thru earlier in the day I got half way and cramp went into my forearms, my hands just would not work! Burpees 50m from the finish line and only the cargo net standing between, full cramps again, the nets were so tight and I had no ability to push off with my legs or get my butt up to lift the net, I felt like I was getting re-birth!! I crossed the finish line with relief, happiness and a definite smirk thrown RD Paul’s way yep he’s done it again It hurt a little more than expected but I hung onto another 1st placeThanks Spartan for another epic day of racing, volunteers were awesome, Course was epic and always great to see the OCR family So proud of my Margies friends for taking on their first Spartan also, great work. Awesome to have my family cheering me on, it’s my little ones 7th birthday today and she got to run a Spartan Race To Barefootinc thanx for your continued support, I trialled a great pair of #inov8s today due for release next year, they were the bomb Tomorrow is a new day and I get to do it all again, bring on the Beast Course, I think it’s gonna test even the most seasoned racers #apacchampionship #justanotherdayinwa #trifecta #hot #spartan2017 See more

09.01.2022 Things have been a little quiet over the last month, a great time to spend with family and friends doing all the fun things we miss when we are all tied up with work, training and kids school for majority of the year! It's been a great time to have a good think about what 2017 should entail! This year will be a challenge, I have set myself ONE big goal, only one, now that's going to be tricky for me! You see, I'm the type of person that just loves to do everything, enter lots... of different events, all requiring different skills/fitness, I simply love to be constantly challenged, even though it may mean I'm not at my best for each event! So this year is different, one big event and leading upto that, anything I do is focusing on that one event! This will mean I will miss a lot of races I normally would do and love to do! However, I think this experience of 2017 will be amazing and everything else will still be there in 2018 See more

07.01.2022 3 months back I had the pleasure of having a decent chat with one of Australia's leading Clinical Naturopaths, Shannon Brenton. Shannon is caravanning around Oz with his family and when he arrived in Margaret River I was excited to catch up (after first meeting a few years earlier).......... When he asked me to be on his show at first I was nervous and thought "why me"? This Podcast will take you into my personal world no doubt about that and as hard as it is to hear some thi...ngs back it makes me realise how far my family has come in a short space of time and there truly is an underlying message for all out there, not just Mums. Life is certainly a learning curve and now our family is all on the 'same page' I am excited for all the fun to be had together in the future. I have met some amazing and inspiring individuals along the journey and im sure there will be more. So go and plug your ears in, carry on with dinner, washing, vacuuming and enjoy;-) See more

06.01.2022 Now this is interesting for all those Ninja's and aspiring Ninja's

05.01.2022 So this post is about as on-trend as a denim onsie, but I was overseas during the Australian Ninja Warrior thing and am just catching up. It seems I must have ...trained over half of the contestants at one stage, but Janet Ann Smith's story is one that got me thinking. I've seen what Janet has had to go through to get to where she is, and it hasn't been smooth. But there's something about the "mum" thing. Every single mum athlete that I've trained seems to be able to draw upon this inner drive, during training and competition that allows them to be focused, determined and efficient. And it's different to that male aggressive push through the last set that we see so often. I often see male athletes (until I've had a chance to mould them a little bit anyway), use aggression to battle on, which comes at the loss of efficiency. At the risk of babbling on, I'll leave a takeaway for the meatheads that need to shout, grunt, chest bump and bro-five (my new name for the high fives that I tend to see) their way through their pursuits. Find your inner-mum. Carry on, and make sure you clean your teeth. #mumstrong http://honey.nine.com.au//honeymoon-heartbreak-ninja-warri

04.01.2022 Saw this today and it certainly rang true for me! Not one to ever back down from a challenge or not strive towards goals I have set......but in the process I certainly have to be flexible with my methods!!! Having three little people to look after (4 if u count hubby) certainly puts the pressure on fitting in the 'work' I need to do to be my best! I may fall short sometimes and used to stress about missing a session or am I doing enough! Now I only focus on quality every single time I do get a chance to get out there and % grateful to still be amongst the fun and hopefully being a solid role model for my girls

04.01.2022 I've been a little quiet lately on the competing front. A few things in the pipeline for the end of the year thou The last few months has been all about family time and nothing makes me happier than watching my girls take on their own little challenges They inspire me everyday to carry on my journey of continually challenging myself

03.01.2022 A little disappointed to say the least that I will no longer be going to Canada for the OCRWC but I know it's the right decision for my body at this time. It's been a tough few months battling illness and niggles and my body is simply refusing everything! I look forward to following everyone's journey over there, I'll be with you in spirit and will bounce back even stronger

03.01.2022 Spartan IS achievable Getting from point A to Point B may not be pretty at times but your mates and all the other Spartans around you will get you through See you on the start line in November

02.01.2022 Installed a few extra 'toys' to lengthen my swinging time! The spinning traverse pole nearly got me #trainlikeamonkey #moceanfitness #firstattempt #gotit #whowantstoplay

01.01.2022 I have always been a firm believer of constantly challenging oneself and stepping outside of your comfort zone! On the left, 24hrs, 120+kms, 330 obstacles in the mud, dark of night and freezing temps!! Only a few months later I was standing on the Ninja Warrior stage, clean, bright lights, loud audience and 6 epic obstacles back to back!! You could not get more polar opposites if you tried. If I let my head win I would never have experienced either! Self doubt that you haven'...t done the training to do any good can crush any good dream!!! The last few years has been an amazing ride, participating in so many different events, races and challenges which also means so many aspects of fitness need to be maintained. A little tricky with my lifestyle and if I let those feelings of self doubt win then these sorts of life changing experiences would never have been!!! So from here on in I will continue with my 'Jack of All, Master of None' training style which may not see me on top but it will certainly see me to the 'start line' and continuing to make the most out of this life See more

01.01.2022 Get on it guys....November Perth:-)
