24.01.2022 The brush becomes an extension of the arm. Twists and turns in grass can be made by turning the wrist or rolling the brush between the thumb and finger pads while dragging paint along the surface. #mural #kindergarten #indigenousartist #artistoninstagram #australiananimals #artsinmaroondah #publicart #process



21.01.2022 During my residency at Tarralla Kindergarten there’s been much discussion about my indigenous heritage. This was probably taken in or near Bahram. A beautiful town on the banks of the Murray river.

17.01.2022 With each group of children, the teacher (Angela in this photo) introduced me and I explained the idea of the mural using my sketch. I also showed them a demo artwork of how I wanted them to help me to paint the creek with their footprints. This gave the children insight into the creative process involved. This was another part of my artist’s brief accomplished!

13.01.2022 After many instructions Archie was totally on board with the project. 6 groups of children contributed a footprint to form the Taralla Creek section of the Mural. Tarralla is an indigenous word meaning ‘walking quickly’.
