25.01.2022 What would you say are the positives of working from home? For me putting on my Eco Sonya Face Compost Mask & planning my next online Pilates session. Running ...my online Pilates platforms is keeping me sane throughout our isolation. I look forward to heading to the studio where you and I workout together. Best part? Aha that is the first 15 minutes, admitting you all online, I see each name pop up, I admit you and we get to chat. We see a little bit into each other's lives, in our home environments. Just the other day, I saw the same print in someone else's lounge as I have in my own. Good taste I say. Another good part is I can tell you what to do, giving you exercises that you would normally whinge at or I will say 10 more, when you've already done ten and I can't hear you whingeing. Or can I? You will never know whether I'm ignoring you or I truly cannot hear you. I look forward to work every single day. I enjoy planning a workout, I enjoy just going with the flow. Sometimes I arrive at our session with a plan in my mind, but somehow I take a new direction. But you know, I've always been like that. I love all the positive feedback that you send to me after the sessions. It is so appreciated and I love the photos of your work out environment, of yourselves, of your animals. Keep them coming. Thank you. This truly makes my day. Our new lifestyle has bought new experiences. Right this second I have a little dog sitting staring into my face as I'm write this post. Do you know how difficult it is to try and type one handed, while having a wet nose touching your nose, nudging you to pat her and laughing all at the same time. How do I say no? She is so goddamn cute, I don't have the heart to move her. I try to walk most days with one of my friends, whether it be a Dogwalk or just a friend catch up, it is another every day moment that I look forward to. Working out for me is like taking a happy pill. Exercise is one of the best antidepressants around. Customers say, that was hard, but geez I feel good now. Or, I was so tired I wasn't going to come, so glad I did I feel a million dollars now. I always feel fabulous after a workout. Even if you do 30 minutes. How are your days panning out? It's time for me to go wash this mask off, catch you at 6 pm for another challenging live session, what do I have in store tonight? You have to come and see. 24.01.2022 We have had coronavirus lockdown. Brrr on top of that we get winter. ( I have forgotten did we actually have summer?) Our lives changed. Some the impact was hug...e, less dramatic for others. Did you maintain a healthy lifestyle? There is no judgement here, this is a open for conversation piece. Myself for one, found myself increasingly opting for less than my usual healthy options of food choices. Comfort food as we call it, is so damn good. Anyone who knows me, or has come to me for healthy lifestyle programs, will tell you, there is definitely a place for it in our lives. Dont deprive yourself totally. Deprivation leads to break out, unless you have the willpower of an ant. But I do recommend is the need for a balance of healthy, healthy but not so healthy, and plain old comfort junk food. People never believe it when I admit it, but I am a junk food lover. In lockdown I did find myself popping into the cupboard a little bit more. It started off with healthy choices, tip toeing slowly towards not so healthy, then moving to picking comfort food over healthy food. No! Stop right there, thats what my body is saying to me right now anyway. I do listen to my body and it tells me when Im doing too much damage. Have you learnt to listen to your body? Im definitely well in tune with my body and I know when My body is lacking or missing something. I start to feel tired, a tad lousy, then touch of a sore throat, followed by the onset of lack of motivation. Ding ding ding, Its time to re-introduce my beautiful salads, my colourful vegetable dishes, my soups. Hello lunch, does this not look beautiful? A mix of roasted vegetables, a home-made beetroot salad, with a blend of green, there is basil, spinach, rocket and beet leaves. My dressing, olive oil and lemon. I feel healthier already. 23.01.2022 Excuse me whilst I yawn. I woke at 6am, my day started with meditation. Then my workday began, 7.30 am. Four PTs, Three were face-to-face and one beautiful co...uple choose online via zoom due to a compromised immune system. They never give up choosing to train twice per week! I then went onto record three sessions for the online platform. I have two wingmen who keep me company whilst I isolate myself at the studio. Amber is a regular and Lauren. Thanks lovelies Home to upload them onto the computer. Lunch, dog/friend walk. Equipment deliveries, new tyres to replace my apparent bald tyres. A flying visit to Mum, shopping and finally home to send out zoom links for Saturday morning live classes. 8pm time to eat dinner and my time to relax! I hear stories of boredom, catching up on tv shows, jigsaw puzzles, sudoku, painting, houses so clean you could eat of any surface, manicured gardens, comments such as I'm on my fifth book, I've cleaned everything in my house, what else can I clean? I have your answer, how about my house. We are all finding our own busy, our own To Do list, My To Do list every single day is no less than 10 to do's What is on your list? Yes Im busy, I choose to be busy, I love being busy, Do I have to be this busy, probably not but I love what I do. I take time to relax. Relaxation is important for both mental and physical health. Balance is the key. So what is important to you in life? How much time do you actually spend on your most important priorities? Consider your passions and interests and make time for the things that make you feel alive. Do what you love and love what you do. Whilst we can all suffer from feeling the humdrum and tedium of work, or feeling stressful at times, if you're no longer enjoying your job and if it's making life too stressful, maybe it's time to change your career. Janette Bendle mother of 2, health coach, writer, animal rescuer and advocate and a LOVER of life. in 1999 an new opportunity was put in my... path, from IT to small business owner in healthcare to Pilates, back then not many people knew about Pilates. I trained completing my diploma in the pilates method, not to mention the next 20 years of continued education in healthy lifestyles, fitness and allied health, I now have been teaching pilates, developing new techniques and approaches to this proven method for the past 20 years. I have a loyal clientele and have gained my crew who have turned into my friends, my family through word of mouth. I have a unique approach that has proven results. I truly love what I do and I love sharing knowledge with you all. Life has taken a new turn for many of us and we have had to adapt to our new lifestyles. It has been hard for many of us, changing our daily routines and work situations, as have I. My studio shut down with last class running on March 23rd. To say we were all sad is putting it lightly. A new opportunity arose, online pilates. I contacted a programmer who set to work immediately on adapting my current website to support on-line classes. Not running to plan, I set up zoom live classes. Both platforms fell into place, with things running smoothly in both camps. I love being kept busy and this is my new current life in the mid of our new living situation. Being honest I am disap...pointed to announce that due to another coronavirus lockdown the studio will be closed as of midnight 8 July. I have loved being back in the studio with you all. Thank you so much to all my customers who supported me through the lockdown who returned in the droves once we were open. 03.01.2022 What were you doing seven years ago today? Seven years ago, on this day with the help of Craig, I moved into my (I will say NEW) Pilates studio. A week or so ea...rlier I received a phone call from the lovely Tanya Scagliarini, I have found you the perfect studio. She was right! (Thank you) A lease was signed and on this very day I moved in. Thank you to all my loyal customers and friends who followed and supported me as I moved from an old studio, to my home, the civic centre and freezing cold factories. Whilst you all stuck with me through thick and thin,we were all wishing and hoping to find a permanent home. We finally found it. Friendships were formed. As our bodies grow stronger, our friendships grew stronger. We bonded over bicep curls, groaned through the shopping bags, whinged as we planked, huffed as we held a hover, cursed the birthday push ups and then sighed in relief when the sessions finished. We also laughed together and had many an interesting chat as we solved the problems of the world. Today I walk into the studio, it feels sad, it is quiet, dark and it has a gloomy feel. The studio misses the life that we all poured into it together as a group. I cannot wait till we are all together again, bringing life back into our workouts and to the studio. Time to go back to where you came from COVID. We are done with you. Until that day, I will see you online Where has 7 years gone? The most memorable moments always seem to fly. Love to you all.
