25.01.2022 Shown here are some my favorite foam rolling drills for myself and for patients with various pain or mobility issues. These can also be used a...s a part of a warm-up or as a strategy for decreasing soreness after exercise. 1. Glutes: this drill can be useful for individuals with low back pain, hip pain and nerve-related symptoms that radiates down the back of the leg. 2. Quads: this variation can be helpful for decreasing quad soreness and patellofemoral (kneecap) pain. 3. Lateral Thigh: if you commonly experience tightness in the outside of the thigh or have pain on the outside the knee or hip, give this one a try. 4. Calf: this drill is great for runners or those who have suffered a strain of the calf musculature. 5. Pre-Tibials: use this one if you have pain or tightness in the muscles of the shin such as with shin splints. 6. Thoracic Mobilization: this is a great one for loosening up the mid-back or reducing discomfort in that area. 7. Snow Angels: this exercise is great for working shoulder range of motion and dynamically stretching the pectoral muscles.

22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It's with much regret that from midnight Wed 25th March we can no longer give treatment to people until this corona virus has passed, the chance of spreading the virus with hands on treatment is in the high rise category therefore will have to be postponed until further notice. The more I think about it the easier it is to understand as I couldn't live with myself if I was to spread the virus to any of you without knowing as I'm sure you will all understand and appreciate. Take care of yourselves and I'll see you all on the other side x

20.01.2022 I thought I’d share my immune tea to boost your immunity at this particular time. The following recipe has been given out at my talks, on talkback radio, on tel...evision and has received overwhelming acclaim. Immune tea simply requires: orange finely sliced with peel on 1/2 lemon finely sliced with peel on 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger 2 teabags (allow to draw in 500mls of boiling water, common black tea is fine) 1 tablespoon of honey (optional) add together, strain and drink.

17.01.2022 Hello everyone, i know it’s a challenging time for everyone with this virus around and not knowing if it’s going to affect us or not. We all need to do what’s right for us. I have strained my back at the moment and needing to take this week of to get it right, nothing major just a slight setback although on the bright side it’s allowing me to rest and monitor the current situation, therefore all booking will have to be canceled this week and my sincere apologies to everyone affected, hopefully back to normal next week depending on government discussion if we remain open. Take care everyone x

09.01.2022 The quadratus lumborum or QL muscle is a low back muscle that runs from the iliac crest (top side of pelvis) to the 12th rib and the tran...sverse processes (lateral projections) of the lumbar vertebrae. The QL acts to move the spinal column through extension and ipsilateral (same side) sidebend and is considered a major postural muscle as it also acts to stabilize the low back and pelvis in the frontal plane of motion. Discomfort in the QL region is associated with many cases of low back pain and is typically reproduced with palpation of the muscle between the 12th rib and pelvic crest. If you have pain in this region, a combination of stretching and strengthening of the muscle is often helpful. 1Active Lumbar Sidebend 2Standing QL Stretch 3Supine QL Stretch 4Unilateral Loaded Carry 5Side Plank 6Dynamic Side Plank 7Dumbbell Loaded Sidebend

07.01.2022 When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value. Later, when t...he nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital. One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem. And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet. Cranky Old Man What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see? What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me? A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise, Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes? Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply. When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!' Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do. And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe? Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will, With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill? Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see? Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me. I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still, As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will. I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother, Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet. A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap. Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep. At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own. Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home. A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast, Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last. At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone, But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn. At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee, Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me. Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead. I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread. For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own. And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known. I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel. It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool. The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart. There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart. But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells, And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain. And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again. I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast. And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last. So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see. Not a cranky old man . Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!! Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too! PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM! The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart!
