20.01.2022 It's Dental Health Week this week and the focus of this year's campaign is on the harm sugar does to oral health. The main three messages are: Consume no more than 6 teaspoons (24 grams) of free sugar per day as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Choose foods with less than 10 grams of sugar per 100 grams.... Look out for hidden sugars when purchasing foods and drinks. Call us on 9528 9118 to make your booking, we're also giving out free hand sanitiser this week (while stocks last). We've included behind the scenes photos of our happy helpers as well

20.01.2022 From Monday 30 March, due to COVID-19 concerns, we're only providing urgent (severe dental pain, abscess or infection within the mouth, tooth fracture, dental trauma etc) and emergency (facial swelling/trauma) dental treatment. Please do not present yourself if you have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, sore throat or shortness of breath. Please be assured if you are attending treatment, that under the gu...idance of the Australian Dental Association, Health First Dental has implemented further infection control measures to keep you and us safe. Although the treatments we can provide to you have been restricted for the time being, please know we are here to continue helping you care for your oral health. If you have a dental issue not listed above but are experiencing pain or it is affecting your wellbeing, please contact the practice and we will provide help where possible. Please call us on 9528 9118 or send us a message on Messenger and a member of the team will return your call/message as soon as possible. All routine appointments will be deferred till early May (but we will reassess the situation at the time). We thank you for your support during these uncertain times and will keep you updated on any further developments. #covid19 #stayhome #flattenthecurve

This could mean delayed diagnosis... of a serious oral issue, or an existing condition getting worse. If you have put off an appointment, now is the time to get in touch with your local dentist. #DontWaitMate Find your nearest dentist: https://www.ada.org.au/Find-a-Dentist

07.01.2022 We've been so blessed to come back from a little break but feeling heavy hearted as we hear of wildlife that have perished, people who have lost their homes or family during the bushfires. We know that our local community to date has already done a lot to support the firies and victims, but if you haven't already, would you consider supporting some of these organisations? https://www.smh.com.au//here-s-how-you-can-help-australia-

02.01.2022 On the health advice of the Federal Government, The Dental Board of Australia and the Australian Dental Association, as of Friday 8th May, restrictions on dental procedures have eased to Level 1 meaning we are now able to resume all types of dental treatment for patients who are healthy and not considered at risk patients. We will also be resuming our normal business hours.

02.01.2022 It's Halloween today and it may just be a bit of fun for the kids, but it also increases their consumption of lollies and sugary treats, creating the potential for increase in cavities. Here are some dental tips to enjoy Halloween but to also keep your oral health in check: 1) Make sure your children eat their candy in moderation because too much candy can cause cavities. 2) After eating candy make sure to swish your mouth with water...this will help keep the sugar and acid o...ff their teeth. 3) Eating sticky foods such as hard candy, lollipops, etc. release sugar gradually over time and can produce more acid that can break down the enamel on their teeth. 4) Limit your stash of candies 5) Schedule a visit with us! As an aside, Sugar Free Me starts tomorrow, so maybe you'd like to sign up: https://sugarfreeme.org.au/

01.01.2022 Following the Federal Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday 21 April, the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) now recommends that restrictions on dental practices be eased from Level 3 back to Level 2 restrictions from Monday 27 April. While the move to Level 2 restrictions still has limitations, additional treatments will be possible including: - examinations... - fillings - dentures - orthodontic procedures (e.g. braces & Invisalign) - non surgical extractions - root canal treatment We are committed to your safety and will continue with our enhanced protocols with regards to infection control and ask that you assist us by delaying your appointment if you have any flu-like symptoms (high temperature, coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath) and to use hand sanitiser on arrival and prior to leaving the clinic. If you are concerned about any oral health issues please feel free to contact us on 9528 9118 or email us on [email protected] so we can make an assessment of possible treatment under the eased restrictions. Please note that we will still be operating under our temporary hours until further notice. We thank you for your continued support during this time.
