15.01.2022 From no festival to an online festival to live screenings and special streaming events for those who couldn’t be there in person, CinefestOZ Film Festival 2020 ...will go down as one for the ages. To our sponsors, outstanding Movie Crew volunteers, industry and media partners and friends and of course our loyal patrons, a huge THANK YOU for trusting us and supporting us to deliver what has been a truly incredible six days celebrating Australian film. In the words of our CEO Malinda Nixon: We truly thought, all those months ago, we may never see this day. For so many people to come out and support us, whether they came from the South West, Perth, further afield in WA or elsewhere in the country or across the world via our incredible streaming service, it just goes to show we were right to push forward with CinefestOZ 2020. We really feel we have engaged audiences and the industry and kept the Australian film flame burning during the darkest of times. Here's just a snippet of what went down! 02.01.2022 Today is world Elephant Day and no better day than to highlight the incredible work (and very challenging in these times) that Lek and her team at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand do, to rescue and rehabilitate elephants from a tough life in a zoo or in a circus. At the moment they are over whelmed due to no tourism and helping rescue so many desperate elephants - please help where you can. This gorgeous ellie was rescued this week, next is her young companion who desperate needs to join her. Links on their page. Thank you! https://www.facebook.com/TheElephantNaturePark
