25.01.2022 This weekend is Race 2 of Virtual Kayak Racing. Last race was well received and enjoyed by all that got involved. We feel it very important to keep exercising a...nd enjoying paddling as long as we can do this safely and provided we can exercise some additional restrictions we should be able to do this successfully. 1.Treat this as a SOLO time trial and DO NOT attempt to wash ride others. 2. Communicate with other members of your club to spread your starting time and place to avoid direct contact with others. 3. Follow all government restrictions that may be applicable in your area. Results will be posted on the APS Facebook page post event. Happy paddling!

I can’t believe that just happened, 5th overall in my first Nutr...i-Grain Ironwoman series and stoked I have loved every second of racing these girls, and credit to them because they are pretty incredible. Special mention to @lana_rogers, @georgia_miller and @lizziewelborn for taking the podium finishes, @harrietbrown for still finishing in the top ten despite being forced to pull out of the last two rounds, and my bestie @naomiscott for making my first series one I will never forget I cannot thank my sponsors, support crew, family and coaches enough. 25.01.2022 Everyone needs goals and dreams. APS and JANTEX are proud to be supporting Dr Richard Barnes with his upcoming dream to paddle from Australia to New Zealand. ... A custom-built special addition Jantex Gamma Rio Small Minus on Flexi soft shaft 220cm with modifications to suit paddler and boat. A solo non-stop and unsupported crossing of the Tasman remains a goal yet to be achieved. This is Richard's goal. Leading the way in Trans-Tasman kayak crossings are but three expeditions: Andrew Mcauley - Fortescue Bay Tasmania almost to Milford Sound in 2007 James Castrission and Justin Jones - Forster to New Plymouth in 2007 Scott Donaldson - Coffs Harbour via Lord Howe Island to Taranaki in 2018. Richard is a keen adventurer, involved with Scouts, and specializing in expedition kayaking. He has paddled in many countries including Chile, Alaska, New Zealand and Antarctica. He has paddled across Bass Strait a number of times, and is currently planning to paddle the Tasman to New Zealand solo and unsupported in December 2020. ‘Blue Moon’ his custom home-built Tasman Kayak was over 2 years in the making and is currently undergoing sea worthy trials. An avid flat blade paddler we hope this little assistance will help keep those shoulders a little fresher for this epic 2 month journey. I don’t know if you’ll remember me, but I might have been your most recent Canadian customer. I was travelling and working in AUS when all that virus happened. My trip got cut short and I called you last minute, only a couple days before leaving, with a bunch of questions and asking if you could make a Jantex paddle for me to bring home. You also brought it to a friends house the day before my departure very well wrapped up for the plane and all. I brought it home and I really couldn’t wait to try it. I finally tried it the other day and holy smokes was I flying! I am so happy with the paddle, it is clean, light, really easy on the shoulders and basically just flows.
