24.01.2022 Builders and tradies remain open for business and are complying with the hygiene and social distancing rules, in line with the latest advice from the government.... The public can have confidence that they are doing the right thing in helping stop the spread of COVID-19, while still going ahead with their residential building projects. On advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, attending private appointments to view display homes and to meet with builders and consultants to make decisions, such as colours and fit-out details, is still permitted. The two-person rule applies only to social gatherings, and workers are exempt when entering homes or private premises. It’s reassuring to hear that Victoria Police will continue to enforce rules in accordance with this interpretation. We appreciate and support the great work that Victoria Police and DHHS are doing to protect our community. It takes more time than people think to plan, have plans approved and schedule building work. Given this, we encourage the public to make the time now to book an appointment with their builder to begin their new project, inspect a display home and continue with their building project or renovation.
