24.01.2022 Hooray One more step closer to travelling to Japan The Japanese government has announced that it will remove their entry ban on travellers from 8 countries one of those being Australia!! These measures are effective from Sunday (1 Nov). The changes are; you will be exempted from pre-entry COVID-19 tests (but you will be required to complete a 14 day quarantine), and you’ll be required to obtain a visa before visiting Japan (this is a temporary move). Although it sounds like travelling to Japan is still not realistic, the removal of the entry ban is a big step forward (Info: https://www.mofa.go.jp/ca/fna/page4e_001053.html#section4)

07.01.2022 Travel to Japan is getting closer The Japanese government is considering ways to lift its entry ban on foreign tourists. You might be able to travel to Japan with some conditions after next spring (in Japan) The government plans specific countermeasures, which is called journey, which asks foreign tourists to download a health check app, obliges them to acquire certification that they tested negative for the coronavirus before departure and buy private medical insurance... to prepare for possible infection with the virus after entering Japan. While asking them to report their health condition via the app for 14 days after entry, the government is likely to exempt them from self-quarantine at a hotel and other places. Also, Japan is expected to set up an exclusive consultation centre for foreign tourists who are suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus.
