23.01.2022 *A foodie is a person who has a refined interest in food and eats not out of hunger but due to their interest and pleasure. To this passionate and hungry market, it is our pleasure to introduce Japan! Due to the strong Australian dollar and competitive pricing for fine dining, Japan is increasingly becoming a popular destination for foodies. As experts in a variety of cuisines, from Japanese kaiseki ryori (traditional multi-course meals) to French, Italian and fusion, delicious meals should be a major highlight of any Japan Package Tour. A business by the name of Open Table has created a convenient website to introduce delicious restaurants and allow customers to quickly and efficiently make a reservation. https://www.opentable.com/tokyo-restaurants

15.01.2022 Dear Friends of Japan Package Tours. New Year’s Celebrations are extremely important to the Japanese people. It is a time of reflection and resolution where Families will spend time together over the January 01 to 03 National Holidays. Family Homes are spotlessly cleaned, and toshikoshi soba (buckwheat noodles), symbolizing longevity, are served to relatives often watching the Kohaku Uta Gassen Music Performance featuring Japan's most famous J-Pop and Enka singers for the y...ear. From January 01 to 03, it is tradition to visit a shrine or temple during the Shogatsu - New Year period. The most popular temples and shrines, such as Tokyo's Meiji Shrine, attract several million people during these three days where large temple bells are rung at midnight. 2018 has been an amazing year for Japan Package Tours and Japanese Tourism. More Australians are realizing each year that Japan is a wonderful, safe, fascinating and easy to navigate destination, which also provides excellent value for money. The Team at Japan Package Tours would like to thank you for your support throughout 2018 and we are on standby to assist with a Japan Package Tour in 2019! Happy New Year or as they say in Japanese Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu May the New Year bring you all good health, happiness and perhaps a new adventure in Japan. Happy New Year from the Team at Japan Package Tours!
14.01.2022 2018 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Osaka-Melbourne Sister City Affiliation. Today Japan Package Tours was delighted to welcome representatives from the Osaka City Government, Osaka Castle Park Management, Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, Nifrel, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and Jun Hasegawa from Tryber. The focus of today’s discussion was discovering ways to market and promote the magnificence of Osaka to an increasing number of tourists from Australia. Osaka located on ...the Island of Honshu is Japan’s 2nd largest populous prefecture behind Tokyo. Osaka is a fun and exciting city best known for its delicious food, bargain shopping, nightlife, historical venues including Osaka Castle and modern entertainment such as Universal Studios and the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. With so much to see and do in this energetic and compact little City, Osaka most definitely deserves an inclusion in any Japan Package Tour.

09.01.2022 We at Japan Package Tours are often asked about internet access whilst travelling in Japan. There are a number of options and the best solution depends on the differing needs of the traveler. As a rule, the majority of hotels in Japan offer complimentary Wi-Fi to their guests. Internet in the room is less common in traditional Japanese accommodations such as ryokans and minshukus. Instead Wi-Fi may only be available in communal areas like the lobby. In many restaurants a...nd coffee shops throughout Japan, free Wi-Fi is complimentary to its customers. For most travelers, this access to free Wi-Fi will suffice. Some of our clients have a requirement for constant Wi-Fi access for reasons such as work commitments, entertainment and security in the case of an emergency. International roaming is an expensive option, so we recommend the renting of a Wi-Fi router or the purchase of a pre-paid SIM card. Telecom Square located at all of Japan’s International Airports rent Wi-Fi routers for approximately $15 per day. A big advantage of a router is it permits the tethering of multiple devices such as smart phones, tablets and laptops. Families travelling together will find a router with access to multiple devices a great advantage. Wi-Fi routers from Telecom Square can be collected upon arrival and dropped off at the time of departure at any of Japan’s International Airports. SIM cards in Japan are available from airports, vending machines or telecommunication retailers with a variety of plans to choose from. Please note your device must be unlocked to utilise SIM cards.
05.01.2022 Historically Japan was very much a cash society with foreign tourists preparing large sums of yen cash prior to any holiday to Japan. In recent years this has changed rapidly with International credit and debit cards issued by American Express, VISA, Diners Club, MasterCard and JCB readily accepted at a high percentage of restaurants and shops. Cash is still a necessity for small local restaurants, vending machines and the purchase of local transport costs. Japan Rail now acc...ept credit card as a form of payment for the purchase bullet train tickets as do most taxis. Foreign issued credit, debit and cash cards can be used at the International ATM machines located in all Japanese Post Offices and 7Eleven convenience stores. These machines will also operate in English and conveniently dispense the local currency
