13.01.2022 Yarra Ranges is one of Victorias largest and most varied municipalities, and we understand that during this difficult time, previously simple tasks lik...e getting groceries might be a little more difficult, particularly in areas like the Upper Yarra. It is okay to travel further than 5km to access things that are essential; but, not simply for preferences. If you need it and its essential, and you cant get it within 5km, then its okay to go to the nearest provider. We need to remember that staying home is one of the most important things we can do to stop the spread of COVID-19. Please only leave home or the 5km radius from your home if its absolutely essential. As a community we are in this together, so be kind to yourself and be kind to others. If you need help, reach out, help is available. Whether youre having trouble accessing essentials or need support in other ways, give us a call on 1300 368 333 or view our list of support agencies at yrc.vic.gov.au/bekindtoyourself

04.01.2022 Great to hear all the amazing work community houses are doing. Thank you

04.01.2022 2020 continues to be a year like no other for schools and early childhood services. Today I announced $26.7 million for a range of measures to support our early... childhood services and families, including providing additional funding to ensure that sessional kindergarten remains free for most families in Term 4. Community-based, local government and school providers offering sessional programs will be eligible for about $500 per enrolment to provide children with access to a free 15-hour program each week. We are also supporting children as they transition from kinder to prep. In a normal year kinder kids visit their local schools in preparation for their first year of primary school. This year prep teachers will visit kinders to engage with the kids, and work with early childhood teachers to make sure all children are supported and have a great start to school. Our early childhood teachers and educators do a brilliant job. This year they have gone above and beyond. They all deserve our thanks and gratitude. We have already seen more than 4,170 teachers and educators sign up to participate in transition training to help children move from kindergarten into school, and 6,800 staff attend webinars on supporting families through learning remotely. These are brilliant examples of the dedication that our early childhood professionals have towards supporting Victorias littlest learners. We know that starting school is a huge milestone. Victorian families can rest assured that our dedicated early childhood and school teachers are working together to support Victorian children to transition from kinder to prep.

04.01.2022 Today we say thank you to all the childcare educators especially our wonderful talented team at Japara.

04.01.2022 Well done Glen Park!

03.01.2022 We have had a lot of people asking us what they can do to help their local community during such tough times? Can they donate to the Glen Park Community Pantry ...and if so, what do we need? The answer is YES you can donate! Naomi will be at Glen Park cooking up a storm to restock our freezers on Tuesday 18th August to provide meals to community members that may be struggling to make ends meet during these unprecedented and trying times. Donations will be accepted between 10am 11am and due to food safety guidelines, we can only accept food that is in date and has not been opened. Glen Park Community Centre and its staff adhere to all applicable social distancing and personal protection measures during COVID-19. Naomi will be sporting a funky mask and will maintain a 1.5metre distance. We ask that you respect our safety and the safety of the community by doing the same; masking up and maintaining a 1.5metre distance when dropping off food.
