12.01.2022 In Australia, Men's Health Week provides a platform for challenging and debating key issues in men's health and to raise the profile of men, their health outcomes and health needs around the country each June. Domestic violence doesn’t only affect the physical wellbeing, but the emotional and psychological wellbeing of an individual. Unfortunately, domestic violence against men is not something that is spoken about easily, readily or enough it’s almost a taboo topic becau...se men are ‘big and tough’ and ‘things like that don’t happen to them’, right? Wrong! Domestic violence against men has some startling statistics that shouldn’t be ignored. The Australian Bureau of Statistics published a report (The Australian Bureau of Statistics 4906.0 - Personal Safety, Australia, 2016) in 2017 stating that: 1 in 3 persons who experienced violence from an intimate partner were male Almost half of these males experienced anxiety or fear due to the emotional abuse 38.5% of men that experienced emotional abuse by a previous partner had their partner lie to their child/ren with the intent of turning them against them Over 1 in 3 persons who experienced sexual harassment were male (34.0%). Most males who experienced sexual harassment were harassed by a female perpetrator (72.2% were harassed by a female while 48.2% were harassed by a male). Men were 2 to 3 times more likely than women to have never told anybody about experiencing partner violence and around 50% more likely than women to have never sought advice or support about experiencing partner violence. Men are 20% more likely than women to have not contacted police about experiencing partner violence. Know the signs: Fear and loss of feelings of safety Feelings of guilt and/or shame Difficulties in trusting others Anxiety Unresolved anger Depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm and attempted suicide Low self esteem Physical illness/injuries Loss of contact with children and/or step-children Domestic violence is an act that can be against women, men or people within the LGBTQ community and under no circumstances are any acts of aggression or violence to be tolerated. 07.01.2022 The Australian federal government has released new workplace safety protocols to guide businesses through the current COVID-19 pandemic. Divided into 23 sectors, over 1300 pages of industry guidelines have been published online by Safe Work Australia. The government is pushing for businesses to have the information, skills & knowledge required to ensure that they are compliant and working in the safest manner (in terms of risk) as they steer towards a goal of a 'virus-safe e...conomy' by July 2020. With the easing of some restrictions, and others still firmly in place - some workplaces will need to be restructured to allow for a Covid19 safer work environment - and workers will expect to see changes in day-to-day practices. The team from Jarah Corporate is here to help you navigate the requirements and provide you with the support, skills, coaching and advice that you need in order to return to business-as-usual. Please feel free to contact us via [email protected], or our website for a friendly, no-obligation discussion.

04.01.2022 COVID-19 has highlighted how important it is to look out for those who need help the most, including the aging members of society. At Jarah Corporate, we wanted to make sure that we could do something that made a difference to help a facility who is giving back to the community and its residents. We donated hand sanitizer to Cabanda Care, a Residential Village and facility who is the largest employer in Rosewood.... "On behalf of Cabanda Care and residents, I would like to express our thanks for your generous donation of Hand Sanitizer. Your donation will definitely add to the provision of quality services to Cabanda's clients and residents and we assure that you that this will be extremely well received by all. Your thoughtfulness and consideration is very much appreciated."
