20.01.2022 A friendly reminder to all of our residents that the unrestricted burning period will be ending on Wednesday, 30 September and the restricted burning period w...ill commence on Thursday, 1 October. We are reminding landowners to Burn SMART if you are conducting planned burns around your property. Plan smart - Burn SMART: Planned burning can help you to reduce the amount of flammable material on your property, potentially reducing the impact of bushfire. In the wrong conditions, a planned burn can escape and become an uncontrollable fire. For further information regarding restrictions and Fire Danger Ratings please visit: https://bit.ly/2YmsWX7 YOU are responsible for any burns on your property and must take care to recognise and manage risks. We encourage you to register your burn by calling DFES’ Communications Centre on 9395 9209 prior to the ignition of your burn. You can use the Burn SMART Guide and Checklist before, during and after your burn to help ensure you Burn SMART. The checklist and guide can be downloaded from: www.dfes.wa.gov.au/plannedburning Bushfires happen every summer and it's important to think about your preparedness plan now before the next bushfire season is upon us.
