There will be a series of small explosions over an approximate 45 minute period on Friday afternoon, 28th August 2020, in the State Forest east of Jarrahdale. Pyro-technics are used by Defence for battle noise simulation. Anybody hearing these blasts should not be concerned. 19.01.2022 Landcare SJ hosted our third R U OK? Planting day and morning tea event along Gooralong Brook in Jarrahdale this week. Landcare is about caring for people as we...ll as caring for country. The event is held to bring people together in the natural environment and to stimulate conversation around mental health and wellbeing. The day certainly managed that. The corporate and community event was supported by 100 attendees from Serpentine-Jarrahdale and beyond, including landcare and community groups, business, families, residents, and local and State government representatives. There were plenty of conversations as over 2000 seedlings were planted, with the conversations continued over a cuppa and delicious home-baked morning tea (thanks Jarrahdale Heritage Society). This year we trialled some new coconut fibre tree guards, in an effort to eliminate plastic and micro-plastics in the environment. Attendees were able to take home a sunflower seedling to keep the good vibes going thanks to the support of the Jarrahdale Community Collective. Remember, it's okay not to be okay. Let's keep the conversation going, ask the people around you R U OK? With much appreciation to our sponsors Rotary Club of Byford & Districts, Thomas Contracting Services, Thomas tree services and Plantrite - Wholesale Native Nursery, and our delivery partners the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, Jarrahdale Heritage Society and Jarrahdale Community Collective, The National Trust of Western Australia and R U OK Day.

15.01.2022 Had a flock of over 50 #Karak feeding here this past week or so. Lucky enough to see them take a break this morning, our first day of #Birak on #GnaalaKarlaBooj...a up here in #Jarrahdale so I could grab the old Canon Camera. They love the dead trees, and with ravens and magpies all living here, they need these kind of lookouts. I won't be removing their habitat. They'll have the Korribinjal - Friends of Korribinjal Reserve water and trees as long as I draw breath. XJ
