23.01.2022 Korean Celadon Teacup and Kiwi Fruit Pencil on paper 20cm x 20cm $250

22.01.2022 I'm going crazy on Pinterest at the moment discovering heaps of amazing woodblock prints. The majority of the most beautiful work is (of course) by Japanese artists from the early 20th century, but my favourite at the moment is this elegant print by fairly obscure German artist, Oscar Droege. This one is called "Towering Conifer". I'm in awe of how powerful an image this is and yet it's so danged simple!

22.01.2022 Lotus Seed Pod Oil on board 26cm x 27cm

21.01.2022 Two paintings I'm currently working on to refamiliarise myself with the traditional layered oil painting technique.

19.01.2022 This little motorbike was a part of a set that my older brother Sean and I got for Christmas in maybe... 1983? Hard to say as it's all a bit hazy but I think I was four that year. There were two of these clockwork motorbikes, one red and one blue, that raced around a track and when they ran out of juice, there was a little charging station where you could plug them in and wind them back up again with a handle. The rest of the set is long gone but I've hung onto this one and I drew this sketch a couple of years ago. Pencil on paper.

13.01.2022 Exciting news! I finished this oil painting, "Pink Lotus Flower Opening" the other day, and now products featuring this painting are available over at Redbubble. You can buy t-shirts, phone cases, laptop skins, tote bags, notebooks, framed prints, postcards and more. The designs are beautiful and the prices are surprisingly good - why don't you swing on over there and take a look? http://www.redbubble.com//22869220-pink-lotus-flower-openi

12.01.2022 Mount Buller. I spent a lot of time up there last year, learning to ski. In winter you can see it for miles around in the Mansfield area, frosty blue and draped in snow.

12.01.2022 Welcome to my new page! Hi Mum! Hi Grandma! If you're not my Mum or my Grandma you are also welcome! I'm an Australian artist currently living in South Korea. I've been drawing, painting and photographing for as long as I can remember. I studied drawing at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. For the past 10 years (I think...11? 12?) I've been an art, photography, metalwork, ceramics, graphic design and English teacher & Assistant Professor. I've also done some wor...k in journalism & photojournalism and made a short film (more about that here - www.facebook.com/KoreanRooftop/) After years of focusing on video and photography as my creative outlet I've decided to return to my roots and begin drawing & painting again. Well, I did that a little while ago, but now I've made some work & it's time to release it into the world. This is my personal online gallery. It's less work and less commitment than a blog or a website, therefore it's much harder for my internal critic to sabotage! I'll be sharing completed drawings, painting and photographs of the "Fine Art" variety (no that's not a euphemism for nudes) I'll also be posting works in progress. The work I show here will usually be available for sale, if there's a price in the description then it's for sale ($AU); if there's no price, then it's not. If you're not interested in buying art then that's fine - just enjoy! I don't plan on sharing articles, memes, anything personal that doesn't relate to my artwork. If you enjoyed looking at my work, I'd love to hear from you so please feel free to comment. And of course, watch this space. Cheers! :-)

05.01.2022 Lotus Flower in the Sun - Complete!

04.01.2022 Website is up and running!

04.01.2022 You can now buy framed prints, posters, cards and a variety of other products featuring my drawings and paintings online at Redbubble! If you're looking for artwork to decorate your house I can personally vouch for the quality of their printing and framing - it's jaw-dropping. Postage is reasonable to anywhere in the world. Check it out.

02.01.2022 Here's the pen drawing of a Wedge-tailed Eagle of been working on. While he took a long time to draw, he's been a very satisfying project. I think he's going to be the first in a series of Australian animal drawings. It's a series of drawings that I'm hoping to keep 100% cliche free so don't expect to see any cuddly koalas.
