23.01.2022 THE NOOK NOW HAS A PUBLIC TOILET!! Dropped down today to what I call Sunbury’s best park the rite of passage for many of us, known as the Nook. Safe to say on a beautiful day like today it was busy as ever. For a long time something has been missing, but today that changes.... Hume City Council is in the process of installing a brand new exeloo public toilet! This isn’t something I can claim the credit for, hats off to the previous council for their hard work and advocacy in getting this well overdue amenity in the budget. Installation should finish soon and should be in full commission in the next few weeks. This is a great outcome for a great public space, now more of us can enjoy the Nook for longer! Jarrod

18.01.2022 On our way back from clearing a large tree across Wildwood road with my SES Sunbury Unit crew this afternoon we spotted an odd looking train at the Sunbury train station! Turns out it was one of the brand new High Capacity Metro Trains out on the rails in TEST mode! Safe to say I was impressed with the size of the train, it took up the entire platform!... Did you know that the Sunbury line will be a major winner out of the metro tunnel project as our line will travel straight though the new tunnel! Soon these trains will be an everyday occurrence but today it was special for me to see it at the Sunbury station for the first time. Josh Bull MP for Sunbury....keen for a ride when the first passenger taking train arrives!!

04.01.2022 At Monday’s meeting of Council, we received the quarterly Rate Arrears report. This report tells a story of how our community is traveling, this report tells us how many people are behind in paying their rates to Council. It is abundantly clear to me, even more so today on this first day of new lockdown that this pandemic is not yet over, that the impacts on our communities and our people are still very real. ... I don’t need a report to tell me that people are doing it tough but what this report does do is show in undeniable numbers the challenges so many households are experiencing. It simply is not fair or right at this time for Council to be chasing people for money, to be banging on their door demanding that they pay their debts when their focus is keeping food on the table and a roof over their heads. Recognising the continuing challenges so many are facing I am proud to say that Council resolved to continue Councils freeze on Rate Arrears debt collection and the accumulation of interest to June 30th 2021 at which stage we will again review the situation. I thank Cr Carly Moore for moving this freeze in the Chamber. It is the right thing to do, it is the fair thing to do and will make things just that little bit easier for those who need help the most. If you need assistance with rates or wish to defer for the most recent quarter because of financial stress please visit this address: https://www.hume.vic.gov.au//COVID-19-financial-hardship-s

03.01.2022 The brand new $7.2 Million dollar Wilim Dulap Hub between Sunbury Heights Primary School and Sunbury Down College is an exciting new oportunity for Council to partner with Schools, the State Government and the community to deliver services to a growing part of our community! This great article from this weeks Sunbury & Macedon Ranges Star Weekly covers Councils recent resolution to provide funding to help get this Hub started. Council is coming to the party with $30,000 in ...support annually for three years! I am honoured that my fellow Councillors appointed me to represent Council on the governance committee and I look forward to working with the other members to ensure that this Hub delivers great outcomes for our community every day! 02.01.2022 Tonight the Tullamarine community is hurting, Today we were all shocked and deeply saddened to learn the tragic news that our community lost four of it’s own. I have said before, Tullamarine is a proud community, a community devoted to family and one that will surround its own with the love and support that they need at this moment.... I can speak from some experience from my time with the SES as to what it is like to experience and respond to traumatic experiences, I offer these thoughts. There are and will be many questions, many what if’s and how could’s, some questions we many never get answers to. However, I urge our community to not speculate, spread rumours or tell stories when the full truth is not yet known. Now is the time to let our Police and investigators do their important work. All will become clearer in due course. Now is the time to be there for one another, to support those who need to be supported and to remember those this community has lost. I send my love and support to the Tullamarine community tonight, and offer my assistance, if in anyway it would be of use.
