21.01.2022 The myth of white hooves being weaker than black hooves
12.01.2022 A good example of healthy functioning barefoot horse hooves.
03.01.2022 Well a week has past since Equitana and it's time to reflect on the event. The crowd this year were so much more engaging than previous shows, we had lots of pe...ople telling us their stories and we took more time talking about hoof health and hoof care. At each show there seems to be a bit of a trend - in 2014 people were surprised to see so many different boots on the market and learn of the applications; in 2016 people came in with measurements and photos to buy boots; in 2018 many people already use boots and were looking at new options! It shows just how far barefoot awareness has come in a short time . Woo hoo! One thing that has carried across all the shows unfortunately is the very little knowledge of laminitis and the major cause, from sore-footedness to being locked up - and some owners refusal to accept it . Founder Facts booklets are helpful here! Thank you Marg Richardson and Jen Clingly for a great publication that has stood the test of time. Here are our hard workers from left to right - Mike Williams (head storeman, packer, courier and fixer), Pauline Williams, Siobhan Nicholls, Sam Green, Natalie van Amstel and Albert Villasevil from EVO BOOT in Spain. We even had the Wild AboutHooves duo pop in a few times to help !
02.01.2022 I'm very excited to finally announce that another of our popular Healthy Hoof Workshops will be held in Flaxley on 11th August! This will be followed up 2 weeks later by a Maintenance Trim workshop which is for ANYONE who has done the theory workshop in the past!
01.01.2022 BLANKET STATEMENTS We rationalize and justify nailing steel to horses’ feet, failing to consider their ultimate well-being and thinking it does no harm.
