21.01.2022 The more time I spend in business, the more I realise how relevant this stuff is
20.01.2022 This week SMB was joined by good friend, and client of The Practice, Cameron Schwab. Cameron has a unique way of explaining some of the most important and impactful aspects of leadership by telling his own stories. He grew up in the world of VFL administration, watching from across the desk as his father dealt with many of the biggest names and biggest issues in Australian sport.... He was appointed CEO of the Richmond Football Club at just 24, then spent the best part of 25 years as CEO of three AFL clubs as they all went through tumultuous times. Along the way, he has faced personal and professional challenges, learnt from some of the great coaches, dealt with highly tuned athletes at various stages of their own journeys, and studied Fine Art! It’s fair to say he has forged his own path, learning many valuable lessons, and has subsequently been able to channel his deep experience in leadership into his current role, mentoring CEOs, senior and emerging leaders, and their organisations. Cameron is a master at sharing his perspective how to be successful in a leadership role, outlining how to build a high-performance culture, and giving people a clear understanding of what it takes to be a connected, authentic, and effective leader. Visit our blog to get the resources that we discussed as well as a link to Cameron's book, 'More To The Game'. https://www.thepractice.com.au/save-my-business-episode-3/ Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/09FTm72p9tROHyibk8zpBQ Listen on iTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com///save-my-business/id1529992926

13.01.2022 There’s this big emphasis on ‘how do I create a great life?’ and I think the psychology of that is flawed. I think the real challenge is ‘how do I build a great me?’ Craig Harper (on the Save My Business podcast)

11.01.2022 Businesses can glean so much from Elite Sporting Clubs, particularly their adoption of a game plan. Take a successful AFL club for example, every single person on the team is acutely aware of the plan, their role in said plan, and are constantly reminded of such by a myriad of coaches, whether on game day or at training. Become a coach that leads a cohesive team.... ---- In case you missed the latest episode of my podcast 'Save My Business' with special guest David Schwarz, you can check it out on iTunes or Spotify.
