23.01.2022 'Oh What a Tangled Web' We decided to remove the Oleander trees from our front yard, so I took to them with just about every tool I have and then I got my next door neighbour to use his mini excavator to pull the root ball out (we also pull the gas line out, but that's another story) When I saw the root ball sitting there, I thought to myself, that would make a great picture #abstractart #abstractphotography #contemporaryart #contemporaryabstract #fineart #photo #photographer #artphotography #artphoto #accidentalart

22.01.2022 'Still searching' 100cm x 100cm acrylic on stretched canvas while I was painting this piece I was thinking about where I grew up, where I went to primary school and the place that shaped a lot of the man I am today, Bidwill in Sydney's West. A lot of people will tell you its a place that is underprivileged (?) whatever that means, etc etc. All I can tell you is, yeah we did it tough. Yeah I saw my Mum struggle, but I also saw a great community that helped each other. If someo...ne needed a hand, someone was always there to help. Pity we seem to have lost that today. I moved away in 1985, when I was in year 5. I've been back a few times, but not recently. Anyway enough of that, I dont really know how that relates to what I painted, but its what I was thinking about at the time, so you all get to share in my thoughts (lucky you) I am really enjoying painting these paintings with many layers. They reflect me and my personality. I use my hands, palette knives, brushes, a trowel and a squeegee to put to paint on. I then used many items to remove layers, sand paper, steel wool, the garden hose even acid until I got the texture and finish I was looking for. See more

08.01.2022 Photography has been something I have always enjoyed. Earlier this year one of my pictures, Rush hour in Chiltern (it can be seen elsewhere on this page) was selected as a finalist in the National Photography Prize held by Murray Art Museum in Albury, MAMA. I have put up my hand to be part of Epilepsy Action Australia's Art for Epilepsy 2017 fundraising auction. I am thinking of doing a photograph, and would like some input from you all as to what you think about the direction I am heading.

08.01.2022 'Darkness, Imprisoning me' 100cm x 100cm acrylic on stretched canvas I painted this piece to show my battle with PTSD and depression. It also shows my battle to fight and overcome the demons of drug addiction. But it also shows that it isnt all dark, there is some light there, there are some good days but I have to work at it otherwise I allow the darkness to imprison me, to make me hide away and be a hermit.... I am really enjoying painting these paintings with many layers. They reflect me and my personality. I use my hands, palette knives, brushes, a trowel and a squeegee to put to paint on. I then used many items to remove layers, sand paper, steel wool, the garden hose even acid until I got the texture and finish I was looking for.

03.01.2022 'Some fences remain even after we get out' I painted this piece while I was in custody. The grey dotted lines across the picture represent the walls and fences of the jails and prison the seem to remain even once we are released from custody. Some people, whether inadvertently or deliberately, make you feel like you are still in jail after you have repaid your debt to society. These thing seem small and insignificant to a lot of people, but to people just released from custod...y they can seem insurmountable. Things as simple as using the ticket machine at the train station, or as drastic as people not letting you get on with the next chapter of your life, not judging you on your actions in the present but continually punishing you for the mistakes of your past. For this piece I was inspired by Richard Bells 2003 entry (and winner)into the National Aboriginal and Torrese Straight Islader awardand, Scienta E Metaphysicia. This piece has the words 'Aboriginal art, it's a white thing' displayed very prominently on it. I also remember he wore a shirt that said 'white girls cant hump' on the front of it! You can imagine the stink that caused. Well, I thought it was time for my political statement piece, and here it is. The piece will be part of the Confined 8 exhibition in January 2017
