22.01.2022 In this time of rampant consumerism we often end up with a lot of "junk" it no longer suits it's purpose for us, instead of just sending it strait to landfill why not see if maybe someone else is now looking for that exact item to suit their needs. If you have items floating around your house that you no longer need, use or want why not post them on a buy, swap or sell page, there are many places that make this process easy now days and if you're really keen have a garage sal...e now that the weather is clearing up, make sure you post about it on Facebook or any other social media platform you use, have clear labelling and set your self up with plenty of change and snacks, add some unobtrusive music for a bit of ambience. Now that you've cleared some space and gained some cash, have a look around, what do you NEED and what do you LOVE? Have a think about what you've just gotten rid of and as you think about any spring re-freshing that you'd like to do in your home how are you going to minimise re-filling it with items that will be in next years garage sale? I recommend drawing up a bit of a map, collect items that you think you might like and take some photos of your existing spaces, put them all in a scrap book or on a pin board, put them up somewhere, your wall or fridge, somewhere you will see them a lot, include the prices of each item you're looking at. As you think about whether to add these items to your house ask your self, are we really going to get value out of these items, if the answer is maybe or no, take it off the board. Do I really love the colour, pattern or style of this item? If the answer is maybe, or no, take it off the board. You will end up with a well curated selection of items that suit either a purpose or bring you happiness or ease of life in some way. It helps you to develop a style in your home that both reflects your personality but also suits the way you and your family use the spaces. 16.01.2022 Sunday exploring took me to Rosebud with a friend, a magical cafe with cruisey vibes, live music and a secret bazaar in the back.
