25.01.2022 These two young kids in these photos packed up and went droving the stock routes in Northern NSW in the middle of a terrible drought in 2006. We were so unprepared for the situation we headed into with only a truck, few horses, couple of not so handy dogs and a single shearers bed to sleep in and a whole lot of responsibility for a 20 year old and 22 year old to really handle! Our mob of cows and calves as you can see in the photos were not in good condition so days were dif...ficult trying to keep these guys alive, by the time these photos were taken our whole droving camp was looking skinny and tried but this turned out to be the most amazing, character building and relationship building test we could ever have imagined. We spent our days working side by side trying to figure out what we were doing if we were making the right decisions, shedding a few tears of frustration for our cows and the lack of feed but also enjoying the simple moments of just being with each other. So many memories that I will cherish thinking of our time out there from having to hitchhike from the mob back to our camp so I could bring the camp up to the next stop as Jayden was either in the water tanker carting water to the mob or ahead putting up the next lockup for cattle. The amazing people who pull up to give you a cold drink or beer on a scorching hot day, the hot meals and hot showers people in along the way offered, dancing in the middle of the night in the rain as it had been so long since we had seen some, hours in the saddle watching cattle, waiting to hear the truck exhaust coming down the road as it meant Jayden was back from his water run and being so tried a can of cold spaghetti was acceptable for dinner! This is apart of us and what made us the couple we are today we learnt to lean on each other, back our selves and stick by each other when at times it would have been easier to throw in the towel. So there is a little reminiscing for this drizzly Saturday. Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the rain

I am Jasmine (Jazz) the lady behind the camera, actually I am terrible at getting photos of myself! On this day my sister in law insisted I get some shots of me just being me, so here I am in my dirty work clothes as I am always in and out of the house to the paddock with a child on my hip enjoying an afternoon in the c...attle yards. I live near Corryong in the Snowy Mountains with my husband and 3 boys we returned home 6 years ago to run the farm with his family. 23.01.2022 So funny story I actually have the biggest fear chooks! When I was a kid we had a rooster and I sure its sole purpose in life was to traumatise me, as soon as I would step out of this house you could see its eyes zone in on my 6 year self ready for attack. My family still laugh hysterically at seeing my blonde hair flying and little legs pumping to get away from the horrible little beast! So fast forward to present ...day my kids have been begging forever to own their own chooks, I have finally given in after even being teased by them for being a scaredy-cat! 23.01.2022 Love watch our kids enjoying the same experiences we did when we were kids! I grew up on the back of a horse and in the rodeo arena. These are my greatest childhood memories mucking around with friends on our horses inventing games, laughing probably being silly buggers and pushing the limits but we had a ball!
