22.01.2022 On this day two years ago, I started to wake from 7 days in a medically induced coma. My family were by my side, some barely leaving the hospital for a week. They slept in recliners, on waiting room benches or even the floor. I remember being told ‘Everything’s ok. Jhayda is ok. It’s not your fault’ The sedation makes some memories foggy - but I will never forget those comforting words.... A huge thank you to the medical team and to my family and friends. I would not be here without you.

19.01.2022 Today marks two years since life changed forever. COVID restrictions and not having a permanent home have made this year quite difficult. I am still eternally grateful to the medical staff at Northern Beaches Hospital who beat all the odds to save my life, and to family and friends who continue their unwavering support in helping me lead a happy and fulfilling life. Most of all, I’m thankful that I’m here to watch my gorgeous daughter grow up. I know we’ve all struggled. 2020 is a year like no other.
