23.01.2022 This is great - Super funds are now building affordable rental accomodation for front line workers like - police, nurses, teachers, cleaners and aged care workers. The real heroes of COVID have been our front line workers. People who cant work from home, who dont get paid a lot and often have to travel a long way to work. Super funds like Aware Super are now starting to build homes for these heroes - at 20% below market rent. I visited their new site at Miranda in Sydney... today. It is a Win-Win-Win. It provides homes for heroes, work for tradies and a good investment for members. We need to do a lot of projects like this. Especially now with the economy in recession and housing construction work going off a cliff. The HomeBuilder Scheme is too small to save the jobs of lots of tradies and it is rolling out too slowly. The Budget is a chance for the Government to fix this bungled scheme and do a lot more including build more affordable accommodation for the heroes of this crisis.

That's what the kids at St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School Regents Park did today. They turned classrooms into the Parliament, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon and the AEC (Australian Electoral Commission). And just like any trip to Canberra, they got to school early and will get home late. They are watching a movie tonight in the hall (virtual bus) and even getting McDonald's for dinner.

01.01.2022 This house is riddled with mould. Its in the clothes & the kids lungs. Its a bloody health hazard. There are about 100,000 government owned homes like this that need repairs. The Liberals just dont get it. Fixing houses like this will keep tradies working & speed up economic recovery.
