24.01.2022 Great to see domestic borders being removed ahead of Christmas

24.01.2022 Dont worry though, Dan is giving us an extra hour of yard time from tomorrow. State Labor must immediately remove the curfew. It is not based on health or safety advice. Restrictions must be eased much faster than they are, these restrictions are harsh and have goals that are unrealistic. ... Labors roadmaps are not good for mental health, businesses and jobs. Simply they are a road to nowhere. From 11.59pm tonight, Melburnians will move into the first step of Victorias grim roadmap out of stage four lockdown. Metro Curfew will be from 9pm - 5am. No change to 5KM radius restrictions. The single social bubble will also start. Two people or a household can meet outdoors for two hours maximum daily for exercise or recreation. 24.01.2022 #LIVE: Update after today's National Cabinet Meeting

24.01.2022 FREE BEER Free beer is up for grabs in Melbourne’s biggest pub shout! Carlton and United Breweries is giving drinkers two beers for every one they buy TODAY at around 400 selected pubs across the city. Participating venues are listed on a dedicated website and patrons are encouraged to book a table in advance. The offer is valid on TODAY (November 14), for one bonus schooner or pint when another is purchased.... The hope is that this initiative will get people back into their locals and spending money right across Melbourne. So if you’re looking for an excuse to get our and support your local hospitality venue, here it is! TAG a mate who deserves a free beer. After the year Victorians have had, I think we all deserve a beer (or three)!

24.01.2022 Protecting kids and their families is more important than protecting the identities of sex offenders and rapists. The Liberal Morrison Government has provided $7.8 million to establish a national child sex offender register and to make it happen we just need the data from the States and Territories. The Victorian State Labor Government has still not agreed to provide data on Victorian sex offenders to the national database (considering for well over 12 months).... The Victorian State Labor Government needs to decide if they want to protect child sex offenders or the children they wish to harm. Share to shame Labor into action.

24.01.2022 VICTORIA CORONAVIRUS FREE AFTER 28 DAYS OF NO NEW CASES Today’s #COVID19 numbers have just been published ZERO new cases ... 24.01.2022 State Labor needs to take action - END IT NOW!

24.01.2022 MELBOURNE POST-LOCKDOWN As we emerge from a prolonged lockdown, Melbourne’s CBD is struggling to get back to its glorious former self. With curfews, travel limits and hardline restrictions on businesses, it is no wonder why so many small businesses in the CBD have had no choice but to shut their doors! ... Mark Knight has captured the stillness of Melbourne’s CBD brilliantly. Unfortunately, recent mobility data indicates foot traffic in the CBD is significantly down. Hopefully Victorians return to their city and bring it back to life!

22.01.2022 #BREAKING Today’s COVID-19 numbers have just been published: ZERO new cases ZERO lives lost... ZERO cases in regional Victoria This brings us to 2 WEEKS of no new COVID-19 cases recorded. This is an amazing achievement for all Victorians For more detail on active cases by council area and postcode please look here: (Updates at 5pm daily) https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorian-coronavirus-covid-19- For detail on Labor’s roadmaps: https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-restrictions-ro

22.01.2022 State Labor have forgotten sole traders. Victorian businesses have attacked Dan Andrews $3 billion coronavirus package as a drop in the ocean, saying easing restrictions sooner is the only way to escape economic armageddon. I call on the State Government to urgently review their package and provide more support, especially to those that have been forgotten.... We need to ensure that the State Labor Government accurately controls outbreaks through effective and accurate contact tracing and use ADF support on offer for hotel quarantine once it starts again. The focus needs to be on opening up sooner than the current roadmaps, getting everyone back to work sooner and safer. The Federal Government is providing support to sole traders, if you need help look here: https://bit.ly/3bZyiOr

22.01.2022 #LETHERSPEAK A gag law that would have silenced the families of deceased rape victims has been shot down by the Victorian Coalition and the crossbench. It was part of major justice reform legislation put to the Victorian parliament, addressing a range of issues. The State Labor Government had maintained there was nothing wrong with the bill and pushed ahead with debate in the upper house on Tuesday. However the Victorian Coalition were successful in removing a contentious cla...use which would have meant families of deceased rape victims would need a court order to speak about their loved ones and the circumstances of their death which could cost families upward of $10,000. The final amended Bill will now allow living sexual assault survivors to tell their stories, because as I have stated before, only victims and survivors of sexual abuse are the owners of their story. The passage of this amendment is a great win for common sense. As usual, the State Labor Government is too arrogant to consult victims and survivors before choosing what is best for them.

22.01.2022 Its ironic that the State Labor Government is using strong penalties to punish people for trying to remove themselves from Metropolitan lockdown, yet they simultaneously remove themselves of all blame as to why Victoria got in such a catastrophic situation in the first place. What penalties should the State Labor MPs and senior government officials face for failing at hotel quarantine and contact tracing while trying to remove themselves from any responsibility?

22.01.2022 #BREAKING SA has announced they will reopen their border with Victoria at 12:01am, on the 1st of December. This is great news for all Australian families ahead of Christmas! Please SHARE this information with family and friends. ... - Courtesy of ABC Australia

21.01.2022 The White House has criticised China for its heavy-handed imposition of tariffs on Australian wine, saying it will feature Aussie labels at a White House function this week. It comes amid deep concern in Washington about the sharp deterioration in Australia-China relations after Beijing tweeted a doctored image of an Australian soldier holding a bloody knife to the throat of an Afghan child. Additionally, the White House National Security Council took aim at China over its de...cision to slap heavy tariffs on Australian wine imports. It is great to see our friends in the USA support Australian exporters. There is no closer alliance than that between our two nations!

20.01.2022 #BREAKING COVID DEATH TOLL SURPASSES 3M It’s very sad that the worldwide COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 3M. We must never forget that the COVID-19 originated in China & when PM Morrison called for an independent inquiry into the origins of the virus, the CCP tried to punish Australian producers & exporters! ... Labor also supported the CCP over Australia. Including when I called for a ban on wildlife wet markets, causing Federal Labor MP’s Andrew Giles & Josh Burns making claims that I was race baiting the Chinese... in order to try to turn Australian Chinese people against me! I strongly support our Australian Chinese community but the behaviour of the CCP towards Australia & the behaviour of the Labor Party in supporting the CCP instead of the Australian Government must never be forgotten. Our sovereignty is not for sale!

19.01.2022 #WATCH: Brett Sutton has revealed he didnt know private security was overseeing hotel quarantine until after the Rydges outbreak. And Victorias Health Chief says, casual guards should never have been used. Why did the State Labor Government do it then? ... Video: 9 News Melbourne

18.01.2022 Victorian Labor Premier Daniel Andrews will be asked to front a federal committee to answer questions about his decision to sign on to Chinas controversial Belt and Road Initiative. It will be interesting to hear why Labor always seem to put the interest of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) ahead of Australia. The Senates Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee is seeking submissions on PM Scott Morrisons new Foreign Relations Bill, which would allow the commonwealth to overturn agreements struck with foreign powers by states and territories.

18.01.2022 Every year since I was a child, I have always travelled to Bourke street to see the Myer Christmas window, which is why it is so great that the Christmas display is back and better than ever. 18.01.2022 POLL: When we are allowed out of lockdown by the State Labor Government what are you looking forward to most?

18.01.2022 The Liberal Victorian Opposition has launched a bid to kick Premier Daniel Andrews out of office over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Opposition Liberal Leader Michael OBrien will introduce a motion of no confidence in Mr Andrews in parliament on Thursday. What do you think?

18.01.2022 #UPDATE on our vaccine program

18.01.2022 #UPDATE: Regional Victoria will move to step three of its coronavirus reopening plan from 11:59pm tomorrow. The daily average for new cases in regional Victoria is down to 3.6 and there have been no mystery cases for 14 days. Regional Victorians will no longer have any restrictions on reasons to leave home, but there are still some restrictions on who they can meet and the size of the gathering.... Although this is welcome news for some of regional Victoria, it seems to forget about many regional suburbs in places like Cardinia Shire, some of which have 0 active cases and some areas never even having a single case! We need to get Premier Andrews to look into the goals set for metropolitan Melbourne. They are unrealistic and too long away, we need the roadmaps redrawn and to get businesses back safer and sooner.

17.01.2022 The Prime Minister wishes everyone a very Happy Diwali. As the Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs, I always enjoy seeing how diverse our country is. A very Happy Diwali to all!

17.01.2022 #BREAKING A worker in Victoria’s hotel quarantine program has tested positive for coronavirus. Victorian health authorities sent out a late-night alert saying that close contacts of the individual were being notified and that public health teams were investigating the case. The Health Department did not provide any more information, but indicated further details would be released on Wednesday night. We will keep you updated as more details are public!

17.01.2022 #BREAKING The State Labor Government has finally introduced an official COVID-safe QR Code check-in system, more than two months after NSW and the ACT implemented theirs! When Victorian shops reopened in October following a three-and-a-half month lockdown, Premier Daniel Andrews was unable to name a date for the introduction of a QR code system, citing the issue of compatibility with the existing IT platform for coronavirus contact tracing.... This was ridiculous as both NSW and the ACT had already established effective systems in September, allowing users to scan their contact details using a smartphone app as they visit shops, restaurants and gyms. Thousands of businesses in Victoria have introduced their own QR Code system, but no centralised Government system has existed until now! Victorians endured one of the longest and harshest lockdowns in the world which is why it is so important they are able to eat and shop with confidence that their health is protected. While it is good to finally see a centralised QR Code system, it is disgraceful that the State Labor Government has taken so long to implement one!

16.01.2022 #UPDATE, Works now COMPLETE at Rotary Club of Pakenham This $180,000 2019 election commitment I secured sees an upgrade for essential toilet facilities at the Pakenham Rotary Club. This project saw unprecedented community support, including from various groups such as the Pakenham Park Run! I must thank Cardinia Shire who worked diligently with suppliers in New Zealand during the height of COVID to make this a reality.... I also thank Terry Williams, Ian Wake, George Blenkhorn and committed Rotarians for their tireless effort in getting this done. #promisesmadepromisesdelivered

16.01.2022 #BREAKING Victoria has quietly dumped universal permit checks for South Australians travelling into the state, despite border controls still being in place. The State Government confirmed last night that ‘spot checks’ would be carried out instead of having road checkpoints manned and authorised officers stationed at domestic terminals.... The permit system will then be dumped from December 12. While it is good to see internal borders removed ahead of Christmas, Australian travellers and our departments need consistency from the State Labor Government, instead we are getting mixed messaging. This is simply not good enough!

16.01.2022 #UPDATE: Victorians will have access to additional free mental health support with 15 new dedicated mental health clinics opening to the public. The clinics, announced on 17 August as part of a $31.9 million federal government mental health package to support Victorians during the COVID-19 pandemic, have been rapidly rolled out across the state at a cost of $26.9 million. I encourage anyone in La Trobe struggling with their mental health, to seek support.... This is a terribly difficult time for so many people in La Trobe and throughout the state. Its important to know its okay, not to feel okay. Free mental health support services will now be available at: Berwick Healthcare, 76 Clyde Road Berwick Officer Medical Centre, 4 Cardinia Road Officer The clinics will play a key role in supporting our GPs, emergency departments, and hospitals by providing easily accessible mental health care. 15.01.2022 Labor have failed Victorians. Peoples lives have been lost. Businesses have been crushed. Why wont the State Labor party take responsibility and fix this disaster.

15.01.2022 VIRUS #UPDATE The first vaccine doses available in Australia will be the Pfizer jab, with those in line to include anyone who lives or works in aged care, hotel quarantine or frontline health. That first round of vaccinations is expected to begin in late February. Australia's second phase of the coronavirus vaccine rollout is expected to begin in late March. It's believed around 6M people are included in the next round of the vaccination program, including Australians a...ged over 70. The TGA has given the Pfizer vaccine provisional approval and dozens will be shipped to Australia from Europe later this month at a rate of 80,000 per week. The Liberal Morrison Government has worked hard to secure safe vaccinations for Australians and will now prioritise a fair distribution process so that we can continue to fight #COVID19

14.01.2022 It was my pleasure to join the South Sudanese-Australian Academic Society & Casey City Church for the launch of the Youth Drop in Centre & Homework Club in Narre Warren. I thank Mr. Andrew Gai & Pastor Larry Sebastian for their kind invitation! The Program aims to provide a safe environment & support young South Sudanese Australians, improve youth engagement & educational outcomes by providing mentoring to parents & homework support to South Sudanese children. The South Su...danese community in Victoria is a great example, among many, of community promoting unity & acceptance. It was particularly great to see the children enjoying the dancing during the event! As Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs, I believe it is great to see Australians embracing many cultures & traditions. I am also very proud to have secured funding on from the Liberal Morrison Government to support the Hope Australia Soccer academy as part of the ‘Just Drop in Centre’!

14.01.2022 WHO investigators have visited a research centre in Wuhan, which has been the subject of speculation about the origins of #COVID19. The visit to the Wuhan Institute of Virology is a highlight of their mission to gather data and search for clues as to where the virus originated. No full itinerary for the group’s field work has been announced and journalists covering the tightly controlled visit have been kept at a distance from team members. I fully support Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s calls for an independent inquiry into the origins of COVID-19. There are many concerns about the level of planning which has been undertaken by the CCP prior to this visit, so I hope that it is thorough and makes some important findings! The stakes are too high

13.01.2022 #LIVE: Press conference from Parliament House, Canberra

13.01.2022 National Security The Liberal Morrison Government is committed to keeping Australian’s safe. Thanks to our tough laws, last week, another 28 New Zealand criminals were removed by two Australian Border Force charter flights to Auckland. This means that we have been able to remove those with criminal convictions which include trafficking methamphetamine, domestic violence, and child sex offences. As Assistant Minister for Community Safety, I strongly support these laws. ... Read more http://spr.ly/6183HHqrU

13.01.2022 Dan Andrews and State Labors ring of steel separating regional and metro Melbourne is a massive use and cost of police resources. The crying shame is Dan and Labor did not follow the recommendations of National Cabinet, like NSW and QLD did. If they had used local police and accepted instead of ignoring the many offers of ADF support from PM Morrison for hotel quarantine, we wouldnt be in this mess now - spending more to fix the problem. ... Dan and Labors failure to follow advice has lead to the destruction of lives and livelihoods and has ultimately ended up costing an enormous amount to the taxpayers for the fallout.

13.01.2022 The Liberal Morrison Government is delivering record funding to support wildlife. This funding will also support those who care for them and our great Australian tourism industry. We have a strong record with wildlife support, including the bans on bringing into Australia wildlife trophies and parts such as rhino horn, lion parts and ivory. #woodforwildlife

12.01.2022 COVID-19 VACCINE Health Minister Greg Hunt has announced Pfizer’s groundbreaking COVID-19 vaccine could be rolled out in Australia from March. Minister Hunt stated the he was delighted to announce that the Government has secured as part of its agreement with Pfizer, full cold chain logistics to distribution for the Pfizer vaccine. The Therapeutic Goods Administration has given the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines the green light after very promising data from early clin...ical trial phases. This puts both developers on track for approval in January and for Australians to be vaccinated against COVID-19 from March 2021. Interestingly, some countries have said they might not permit international travel to unvaccinated individuals. The Morrison Liberal Government has invested heavily in world leading science in order to secure a potential vaccine. While these are just early signs, Australians can trust that the Federal Government will ensure that we are at the front of the line if and when a vaccine is found!

12.01.2022 #COVID19 Time and time again, this state Labor government shifts the goal post Approved. Why can’t we be like the rest of Australia?! Obviously State Labor has no confidence in their contact tracing system Premier Daniel Andrews has ruled out bringing forward the easing of coronavirus restrictions despite Victoria achieving a key milestone of 14 consecutive "double doughnut" days with no new COVID-19 cases... This is despite our 14-day rolling case average dropping to zero and hitting the target about 10 days earlier than the state government's original modelling Despite the hard work of Victorians in achieving these results, Mr Andrews said Victorians would have to wait until next Sunday, November 22, for an announcement about further restrictions being lifted. It’s just not fair

12.01.2022 #WATCH: In the lead up to last years election, the Liberal Morrison Government announced $7.8 million to establish a national sex offenders register, however some Australian states are refusing to sign up or have yet to respond. (12 months and waiting) The proposed register would record the name, general location and crimes of pedophiles across the country and would be publicly accessible. Mr Morcombe of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation said he is striving to make Australia a... safe place and it believes a public and accessible sex offender register is an integral part of maintaining safety around the nation. Its time all states and territories sign up and protect our children. More: https://bit.ly/3khlC8D Video: Sky News Australia

11.01.2022 #COVID19 171 days. June 9 was the last day Victoria recorded zero cases before the second wave. Little did we know that the next time we’d see this number would be in 139 days time, on October 26. In between those dates Victoria was in a crisis. A total of 819 people died and there were 20,345 cases. It was absolutely devastating.... There were outbreaks in hotel quarantine, schools, aged care facilities and workplaces. Early on, 36 suburbs were locked down for one month in addition to the imposition of the ‘Ring of Steel’. Face masks were made compulsory, you weren’t allowed 5KM from home and a curfew existed. Today marks 28 days without any new coronavirus cases in Victoria. For epidemiologists, this means we’ve eliminated the virus from the community While the Premier and his State Labor colleagues will want to take credit for the crushing of the second wave, it is them who got us into it. Victorians know this. Victorians know that it is themselves who have achieved this amazing milestone I hope lessons have been learned and that Victoria never has to endure this again

11.01.2022 2020 has been a big and challenging year for many Australian's. Please fill out this 2 minute survey so I can advocate on your behalf!

10.01.2022 Victorians deserve answers. The disastrous hotel quarantine is responsible for at least 99% of COVID-19 cases in Victoria, according to genomic data and the DHHS. Dan is finally facing questions in the hotel quarantine inquiry. Plenty of unanswered questions, one big one being which Minister was responsible for this? Every Victorian has been affected by this, we need to know what and how everything went so wrong so nothing like this happens again.

10.01.2022 ROAD SAFETY Clyde Road in Berwick has been dubbed one of Melbourne’s most dangerous crash hotspots, according to new data. The bustling Clyde Road was one of six new roads across Victoria to be featured in the state’s top 10 most dangerous roads. It was ranked the 9th most dangerous road and the only listed road within the Casey or Cardinia local government areas which is why I am glad to have secured funding for safety upgrades.... In 2019, I secured $40 million in Federal funding to add a third lane in both directions of Clyde Road, however the State Labor Government continues to take their time with the project! As the project managers, I find this disgraceful. The project must be fast-tracked! We’ve got the fastest growing electorate in the country, they have to fast track these things. There’s really no excuse to drag this out and I can’t for the life of me see why it would take two years to carry out scoping works.

09.01.2022 I want to wish all our Jewish community a very Happy Chanukah. Chanukah commemorates a triumph of the Jewish people more than 2000 years ago! 2020 has been such a challenging year but we are so lucky to live in such a multicultural society in Australia. To our Jewish community, I wish you and your family a Happy Chanukah!

08.01.2022 It is with pleasure that I send my best wishes to members of the Sikh community in Australia on the 551st anniversary of the birth of the found of Sikhism, Guru Nanak! Over the years I have had the opportunity to become very close to our Sikh community, which has always been supportive in times of need. I convey my very special wishes on the entire Sikh community on this momentous occasion!

08.01.2022 GANG CONFLICT & SOCIAL MEDIA Twenty Victorian teenagers have been charged over homicides in little over a year amid fears the consequences of gang conflict are worsening. The youths all males aged between 13 and 18 have been arrested in the past 13 months over eight separate killings. At least half of the deaths were allegedly the result of street-level confrontations involving gangs. Worryingly, the severity of higher level offending has reportedly increased due to socia...l media, which youth worker Les Twentymen states, allows situations to escalate swiftly. As the Assistant Minister for Community Safety, I worry that not enough action is being taken by the State Labor Government to ensure that social media doesn’t exacerbate existing youth and gang crime issues. With Victoria’s latest year-on-year youth crime statistics showing an increase in overall offending, Victoria Police must be given additional resources to monitor and interrupt organised gang crime!

08.01.2022 The Liberal Morrison Government plans to strip organisations of their charitable status if they fail to fulfil their obligation to join the National Redress Scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse. This means they will no longer receive tax concessions while they force survivors to wait longer for the redress they so justly deserve.

08.01.2022 NARRE WARREN SOUTH ATTACK A woman has been killed and a three-year-old girl severely injured in the alleged stabbing that also hurt two others on Monday. Ambulance Victoria confirmed four people were taken to hospital in serious conditions with upper body injuries. A 15-year-old boy was arrested at the scene and was in hospital under police guard on Monday night. Police said after the arrest of the 15-year-old they were not looking for anyone over the incident.... It is heartbreaking to read of these reports. As someone who has lived and represented La Trobe for many years, the rise in violent attacks horrifies me. My thoughts are with the victims and their family during these awful times.

07.01.2022 Although I welcome the State Labor Governments announcement of extra economic support for businesses who are really hurting as a result of Victorias second wave, the commitment is only a drop in the ocean compared to the Federal Government. For the three months until the end of 2020 alone, 1.36 million Australians living in Victoria will receive $10.9bn in JobKeeper support, more than 60% of all JobKeeper payments across the country. This is only one of the many support mea...sures from the Federal Government. Victorian businesses have attacked Daniel Andrews $3 billion coronavirus lifeline as a drop in the ocean, saying easing restrictions sooner was the only way to escapeeconomic armageddon. We need to ensure that the State Labor Government accurately controls outbreaks through effective and accurate contact tracing and use ADF support on offer for hotel quarantine once it starts again. The focus needs to be on opening up sooner than the current roadmaps, getting everyone back to work sooner and safer.

07.01.2022 Senior Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) official Kate Gavens pulled her staff out of the hotels in July due to concerns she repeatedly raised with the Department of Health and Human Services about Operation Soteria, the taskforce created to run hotel quarantine. How could it be allowed to continue when even in State Labor Government departments they were warning the government about the issues. Victoria is in lockdown due to Labors incompetence o...n hotel quarantine and failed contact tracing. The cost to lives, mental health, business, jobs and our economy sadly grows by the day. Yet, the warnings were being made even from within the State Labor Government. But, no one took action as no one was in charge?

07.01.2022 #UPDATE: One in five people who test positive for COVID-19 end up having a fever and only a runny nose, sore throat and a cough. Experts believe that the younger generation have been most hit by the second wave of COVID-19. They generally do not suffer the severe effects of the virus, but the biggest danger is passing it on to the elderly or people with underlying health issues, where sadly the impact can be deadly. Even though community transmission is low at this moment please continue to get tested even if you experience mild cold symptoms, as you may save someone elses life by not passing on the virus if you have it.

03.01.2022 #BREAKING A Man has been arrested after methamphetamine was found in a portable medical shower! Earlier this month, ABF officers in Sydney detected 20 kilograms of methamphetamine concealed in a portable disinfectant tunnel a device people walk through to have water or disinfectant sprayed on them.... An Australian Federal Police investigation into the importation of the methamphetamine resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old man from Western Sydney yesterday. The man was scheduled to appear before Parramatta Local Court today. 03.01.2022 Victorian Liberal Opposition are calling for a Royal Commission into the disastrous State Labor response to COVID-19. Who knows, they might be able to find the Minister responsible for the failed hotel quarantine and contact tracing. What do you think?

03.01.2022 HYPERSONIC MISSILES Australia will begin testing hypersonic missiles that can travel at least 5x the speed of sound within months under a new agreement with the USA to develop prototypes of the next-generation weapons. The move to quickly develop the air-launched hypersonic missiles comes during a period where there is growing assertiveness within the region from some nations. China and Russia have also been developing a range of new weapons including hypersonic and lon...g-range ballistic missiles. Under a conservative estimate, it would take an air-launched hypersonic missile between 6-7 minutes to travel from Sydney to Melbourne. The Liberal Morrison Government is committed to modernising our defence capabilities whilst also supporting our own defence manufacturing sector!

03.01.2022 Why did Premier Daniel Andrews lie that ADF wasnt on offer? Victoria is in a State of Disaster due to the failed hotel quarantine program and contact tracing.

02.01.2022 #WATCH: You need to watch this to understand the enormity of the State Labor Governments lies when it comes to their disastrous hotel quarantine program. Lies, lies and more lies! Finally they have caught out Premier Daniel Andrews when he said ADF was never on offer to the State Labor Government, not to mention the Emergency Services Commissioner who stated previously that ADF support wasnt offered and wasnt asked for. What also stands out is the professionalism of the... Commonwealth agencies such as our ADF when compared to Victorian State Labor Departmemts senior officials. Not only was their a catastrophic failure which has led to hundreds of deaths, destruction of jobs and livelihoods and untold mental health, but they also lied the entire time and needed the ADF to come out and prove thier lies. 02.01.2022 To protect kids, the AFP have created a new ‘7 Day Family Online Safety Challenge’ which increases public awareness about online safety. Not only do our law enforcement agencies do a great job on the frontline, they are also committed to public awareness! Yesterday, I attended the launch of the Parliamentary Friends of Combating Child Exploitation group. We were briefed by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) about alarmingly growing rates of child exploitation. It was noted... that, disturbingly, the average seizure of exploitation materials contains between 10,000 to 80,000 images and videos. Additionally, the number of 18-24 year olds who are creating and distributing this material is rapidly increasing. As the Assistant Minister for Community Safety, I will continue to work with our law enforcement agencies in order to ensure this disgusting crime does not continue to ruin the lives of innocent children. Finally, I applaud the relentless work of the AFP in seeking out & prosecuting offenders. If you or anyone you know has information regarding child exploitation, please visit https://forms.afp.gov.au/online_forms/ocset_form

02.01.2022 It was a privilege to join the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia in Pakenham today for the ‘Fasting in my Religion’ celebration, marking the end of the Holy month of Ramadan. I personally thank Dr. Tariq Butt, Imam Syed Wadood Janood & the Muslim community for your warm welcome & invitation. The Holy month of Ramadan is one of the most significant sacred observances in the Islamic calendar; it is a time for prayer & devotion. Ramadan is a time for fasting during daylight... hours for Muslims. It signifies an act of worship & sacrifice. Breaking of the fast after sunset brings people together in celebration to share food with family & friends. I thank the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia for promoting inter-faith tolerance & unity, as well as your voluntary work helping those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. As Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs, it is heartening to see Australians coming together in unity to celebrate a diversity of cultural observances & traditions. I extend my best wishes to Muslim Australians observing the Holy month of Ramadan.

02.01.2022 CHINA RELATIONS Prime Minister Scott Morrison has understandably demanded an apology over an inflammatory social media post from an official Chinese account. The disgusting image showed a special forces soldier slitting the throat of an Afghan child with its head wrapped in an Australian flag as it cradled a lamb. This is simply disgraceful!... The appalling post came 3 days after China hit Australia’s $45 billion wine industry with a tariff of more than 200 per cent, in a major escalation of Beijing's trade strikes on Australian exports! The Chinese Communist Party has acted with no conscience this week. They are seeking to divide Australian’s at the end of a year in which the world has endured so much (mainly due to Chinese wildlife negligence). As the Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs and a MP who represents a diverse electorate, I know that we have a very strong Australian Chinese community who will not support the vile actions of the CCP!

02.01.2022 This morning in the House of Representatives, I was pleased to table the Customs Tariff Proposal (No 1) 2019. It is estimated that extending the tariff concession for eligible medical and hygiene goods until 30 June 2021 will reduce customs duty receipts by $3.8M. It wasn’t the most exciting speech but it makes sure Aussies are not paying a cent more for masks, hygiene products, soaps etc!

01.01.2022 This is about making Australias gas work for all Australians. Gas is a critical enabler of Australias economy. - PM Scott Morrison (ScoMo)

01.01.2022 #BREAKING China has put tariffs of up to 200% on Australian wines hammering Australia's Chinese exports and sending one of the country's largest wine exporters into a trading halt. China's Ministry of Commerce announced it would apply a tariff rate of between 107% and 212% on Australian wines. This is simply ridiculous... The trade strike is the latest in a long line of hits on Australian exports by Beijing this year. 2020 has been a challenging year for so many Australian businesses, the last thing they deserve is random and unexplained tariff attacks from the Chinese Communist Party It is ridiculous for China to suggest that Australian wine producers are dumping cheap wine when our wine is regarded as world-class. The Liberal Morrison Government will always stand up for Australia and our values. As the Agricultural Minister has rightly stated, we’re a sovereign nation, we expect to be treated with the respect of a sovereign nation. Labor on the other hand has always backed the Chinese Communist Party over Australia As the Assistant Minister for Customs, I hope there is some clarity on how this decision was made, and that it is reversed. Australian businesses deserve better
