25.01.2022 3 month old Prospector, growing into a flashy strong colt,

24.01.2022 Jats Bar Sequin, with owner Lindsay Doyle doing a fantastic job in the Nutrien Classic challenge, Lindsay then purchased Sequins 2yr old full brother Amigo, at this years sale, we look forward to seeing both horses competing in challenges and campdrafts in the future.

24.01.2022 John's latest project, 2 yr old filly 14.2hh Keno, broken in last year and back again for a bit more education, lovely sweet nature and smooth to ride. Just love the way she really steps the hind leg under her even when just cruising around the sand yard.

24.01.2022 How lucky I felt this afternoon to spend half and hour with this little baby, have my jumper chewed, ear sniffed and be able to give the little fellow and good scratch on the withers, the joys of breeding just a few foals each year is to be able to spend time with each one. Only a day old and no distrust of humans and his mother Showgirl is so trusting and also loves a good rub and a few treats. How fortunate that this year the paddocks are knee deep in green feed a far cry from last years bare brown paddocks.

23.01.2022 Jats Bar Embrace a carbon copy of her older sister Malala,

22.01.2022 Tamworth and district Campdraft held on 16th to 18th Oct, how good was it to return to campdrafting at such an incredible venue owned and managed by Koobah Performance Horses just south of Tamworth. Thank you to the T&DCC for putting together three days of campdrafting with an incredible committee, generous sponsorship and support from cattle owners and such a hard working team of back yard people, announcers, office help and so many volunteers. We were proud to compete with four homebred horses, two mares just starting their campdraft careers and one who is returning from a two year absence after she had a lovely colt foal and of course Adios Acres the sire of the three mares. Photo of Alibi scoring an 86 on her first run back after the two year break.

19.01.2022 Promise, first canter in the big yard, balance improves as he got the idea of what was wanted.

16.01.2022 As breeders and supporters of Australian Stock Horses Society we are delighted they published an article about Adios Acres's win in the Dalgety Stallion Shootout at Tamworth in Feb. This was a huge achievement for John and Adios Acres. Adios is dual registered AQHA and ASHS and we are proud of his ASHS heritage in his dam line.

16.01.2022 How good is it to be back at the Barraba show ground with the Barraba Pony club putting on an excellent two day campdraft, Alibi had her second full course after two years off having a foal, she has the speed to handle the very fast brahmans and we look forward to keeping her on the truck.

15.01.2022 Long reining and leading out with another horse all preparation for riding, John is fortunate he does not have to race against time in preparing the horses for riding so a confident horse that has understanding of steering and stopping is a great basis to start with.

14.01.2022 Jats Bar Conquest, our last foal to be weaned this year, a stunning black colt by Hazlewood Congressman out of our lovely Jats Bar Alibi, learning how to fit in with the grown up horses, John feels the weanlings never forget the foundations of being tied up, sidelined, led from another horse and having feet trimmed etc before going out to the paddock again with their mates.

14.01.2022 Jats Bar Promise two year old gelding in preparation for the 2021 Nutrien sale in Tamworh in Feb, a big well grown brown gelding, very calm in nature and long striding canter, unfortunately skinned his off side hind leg on Sun but we’re hoping it will be all healed by the sale.

14.01.2022 Jats Bar Conquest, is growing into a lovely young colt, he is our first foal out of our oldest Jats Bar Adios Acres mares, Jats Bar Alibi by the Rob Leach's open campdraft stallion Hazelwood Congressman, Conquest had his first hoof trimming today by our farrier Bryce Kelly, Bryce is so patience and calm around the horses and we know those good experiences are vital for young horses trust in how we handle them.

12.01.2022 At last another filly foal out of Alias, a full sister to Alibi, Desire, Abigail, Unique, Ambition, Casanova, Promise and Arias, this time a beautiful black/brown with white star and two small part socks on the front,

11.01.2022 Barraba Pony Club Campdraft, thank you to the cattle donors who supplied well conditioned and very valuable cattle for enthusiastic campdrafters, once again the compliments of how lovely our horses are conditioned and look, even in the dusty conditions is due to good nutrien, the Castlereagh Feeds we use to top off the paddock feed, is part of our overall horse care. Good nutrien essential for happy horses.

11.01.2022 Our first foal for the year, a palomino colt, with a fair bit of bling, a week earlier than expected but still a good strong foal, just over a day old and loves getting some attention.

08.01.2022 Thank you to Australian Campdraft Magazine for the awesome half page advert in this months edition, we are pleased to stand Adios Acres at our property Royston, just south of Manilla, this season, for further information and a contract please hop onto the Select Sires web site. www.selectsires.com.au or contact John direct on 0428 558422

08.01.2022 Jats Bar Promise, 3rd ride and out in the big yard, still working on the steering but thrilled with his comfortable canter and sensible attitude. So soft in the bridle and calm.

06.01.2022 Jats Bar Keno, coming along nicely.

06.01.2022 Jats Bar Promise, had the day long reined, saddled and led around the paddock, all steps before he gets ridden, when your'e prepared to take the time to give the young horses a solid foundation they progress quickly. Not sure that Unique likes the roll of lead pony, but she has to earn her keep for a change. Beautiful Autumn weather but some rain forecast for tomorrow will good for all those farmers who have got the paddocks worked up or sown down.

06.01.2022 Preparation of the Jats Bar horses for the Feb Nutrien sale is in full swing, our two 2yr olds are progressing well with their education. Lot number 552 is Jats Bar Embrace, a lovely chestnut filly, the last foal out of "Battles Country Colours" and sister to the mighty Jats Bar Epic and Jats Bar Malala.

05.01.2022 2020 Nutrien Stallion Shuteout interview with Brett Welsh, what an honour to win this hot contested competition, thank you to the major sponsors, Dalgetys, Jo Thieme, Scone Group Equine, Aust Quarter Horse Ass, Easy on Rugs, and our personal sponsors Castlereagh feeds.

04.01.2022 After two years in the brood mare paddock I dont think Alibi was impressed about joining her sister's Abigail, Ambition and Unique and being put back into work. Little Annie has done the photo bombing again, I think she just loves posing and being on facebook

04.01.2022 Jats Bar Embrace, preparation for riding, John does all the education on our horses giving them a solid foundation before riding and in their early riding careers, its a delight each year to see the personalities of each horse develop, very similar to watching each grandchild growing up and discovering the realities of life.

04.01.2022 Jats Bar Keno has found a new home with Bri and Laurie Argue, we couldn't be happier that Keno has gone to a home where she can shine and fulfill her full potential, Keno has the most beautiful nature and trusted people and loved being around humans, we can picture her as being a great all round family horse for Bri and Laurie.

03.01.2022 Well foaling has finished this year, only the two foals, the palomino colt and brown filly, think we will call the palomino colt Jats Bar Prospector ( thank you Lindsay Doyle for the suggestion) and the filly Jats Bar Lucy as she was born on our granddaughter Lucy Oversby's tenth birthday on Tuesday.

01.01.2022 Our last filly out of Country Colours, Jats Bar Embrace, 20 months old and in preparation for being ridden, such a sweet nature and showing all the same attributes as her older sister Jats Bar Malala.
