24.01.2022 Story from one of my clients (name changed for privacy reasons): Kelly has suffered with knee pain for years. It was always on the back of her mind, like an annoying toothache.... It didnt matter if she was sitting, standing, walking or even sleepingshe just felt that her knee wasnt right. It made her feel really old, especially when getting up off the lounge was a struggle. She used to love going shopping but she dreaded it now and it took twice as long because she had to sit down every few minutes. Shed ignored the pain for years, hoping it would go away on its own. She would pray for the day that she would wake up and spring out of bed pain free. That day never came unfortunately and her knee got worse and worse. She worked at a job where she had to stand all the time and sometimes she would be in tears on her lunch break. But she had to work. She would go crazy if she stayed home all day. Her knee pain made her so tired because it was always on the back of her mind. She had been going to see a doctor and shed tried painkillers and injections, even though she hated them. They all gave temporary relief and after a few days her pain would come right back to what it was. It didnt feel right to have to rely on medication to be able to get out of a chair or walk to the shops. X-rays showed that she had a lot of arthritis and the specialist said she needed a knee replacement. She really didnt want to get one though because shed heard that a colleague had both her knees done and was STILL in pain. She changed doctors to a doctor who worked in my clinic who referred her to me. Within a few weeks, her pain had gone down and she was able to get off the lounge easily. She started to enjoy shopping again and best of all- she didnt feel old anymore. Her energy levels had gone up and she stopped wearing her knee guard to work. People stopped feeling sorry for her and she stopped feeling sorry for herself. She started to feel more like herself again. She is not completely pain free but she has taken control of her life again. She is not holding back anymore because of fear of pain. Can you relate with this story?



24.01.2022 Have you ever wandered what a disc bulge actually is? Here is a simple video explanation. PLEASE NOTE: ... 1. It is NOT the end of the world if you have a disc bulge. It recovers VERY well with the right treatment. 2. Just because a scan shows that you have a disc bulge DOES NOT mean it is the cause of your pain. A LOT of people (especially if you are over 40) have disc bulges come up on a scan even when they don't have any pain at all!! 3. You will need a thorough movement assessment to see if the disc bulge is actually the cause of your pain.

Please do not hunch over your laptops on the dining room table or in bed! Make sure your screen is propped up at eye level and you use a wireless keyboard/mouse if you are going to work for a long time!



16.01.2022 Simple exercise ANYONE can do outside that will burn fat, tone up your legs and get you fit: 1. Find a hill 2. Run up it as fast as you can 3. Jog down... 4. Repeat x 10 Dont over complicate fitness guys. Simple solutions are the best solutions.
