20.01.2022 No chaos with this avocado seed! "Kaos" , the border collie swallowed an avocado seed , assuming that it was a ball. Luckily his owners noticed him playing with the seed but was too late to retrieve it out of the mouth. In surgery the seed was entering into the small intestine and an obstruction was avoided. Kaos has made a great recovery

20.01.2022 OUR LOCAL STARS Following the legend of the movie Hachi with Richard Gere and his pet Akita, our local well almost look alike stars John with his pet Akita named Horus share a similar bond between pet and owner. 07.01.2022 Travelling First Class to the Vet. Caring cat mum Victoria, wants only the best for her pet Charlie. After trying various conventional cat carriers that does not go well with most cats, the " drive in, hop off " onto the consult table was too easy for Charlie....and everyone's happy.

03.01.2022 BLADDER STONES An interesting case with patient Burger, a 10-year-old Dachshund that was presented with difficulty in urinating. Her bladder felt like a bag full of marbles and in surgery we were not surprised to see hundreds of stones in varying sizes. Burger made a full recovery after the surgery and is now on a prescription diet lifelong to prevent a re-occurrence.

02.01.2022 CHANGED PROTOCOL WHEN VISITING VET CENTRAL with regards to COVID -19 CONSULTATIONS TIMES MAY HAVE TEMPORARILY CHANGED. ... Vet Central Animal Hospital is taking precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus to keep you, your pets and our staff safe. If we are exposed to COVID-19 we will have to quarantine the Practice and this will impact on our ability to care for the animals in our local community. So, to reduce the likelihood of an outbreak of COVID-19 at our practice, we kindly request that if you are unwell, are self-isolating, have had contact with a person that may have COVID-19 or have travelled recently, to refrain from coming in to the Practice. Please call us to discuss how best we may help you and your pet. Further, we have had to change the ways that you can engage with us in these difficult times as listed below: 1. Consultations are by appointment only. 2. Please arrive on time. Only 2 clients are permitted at our Reception area to maintain social-distancing. 3. Only 1 person with the pet will allowed in the consultation room. 4. Consultations will be shorter to allow for staff to sterilise and disinfect the rooms in between consultation times. 5. Priority will have to be given to serious cases rather than preventative cases. 6. We regret that clients will not be allowed the use of our toilet in order to protect our own staff from possible infection. 7. To minimise physical contact we prefer that all payments are by card rather than cash. 8.Consultations times are subject to change during COVID-19 restrictions. Please call the hospital on 97840400 to check adjusted times. We wish you and your pet good health over these difficult times.
