14.01.2022 Varanasi we will be back There's so much spiritual connection here if you come please stay long enough to feel this city. After a not so pleasant first night we were approached by a 7th generation cool local guy named Sunny,he suggested another guesthouse and we moved straight away,now we are surrounded by happy people with a Ganges view He took us under his wing and with time of the essence it's the only way to go..(at an agreed price of course where your'e both hap...py) This city is full of ancient tiny narrow stone alleyways which you share with cows,goats,dogs,monks, monkeys & the odd snake charmer then when people die they are carried through these alleyways dressed in traditional dress, you get to recognize the bells & chanting sound of a body coming past and know to step aside.. (we stopped for a famous milk Lassi straight from the buffalo and saw 6 bodies carried past, one was a tiny baby) bodies come from all over India to be cremated by the Holly Ganges (up to 300 per day )we'd heard about this but to see it and learn the spiritual ceremonial traditions was amazing & beautiful..we are welcome to whittness these ceremonies as for the families this is a celebration with no tears but once home they allow themselves to cry. We watched this all up very close (they use special wood so whilst the whole city is filled with smoke all the time there is no smell) then from our big wooden boat on The Ganges for a tranquil chill out sunset..big day of satisfying our hunger for information & learning Hindu tradition by The Ganges.Thank you Sunny you're worth every penny for what you have given us..memories to talk about forever. 10.01.2022 If our day hadn't been amazing enough..this then happened..we were met in the stairwell of our guesthouse by this friendly little smily Indian massage man, he had a book with weird drawn pictures of his hands and testimonials from customers from all over the globe exhausted, the decision was made very quickly and we've booked him again today

03.01.2022 When you are in transit all day and arrive in the dark but the hotel you booked has a rooftop restaurant and cold beer overlooking the town river, then you notice a castle in the water and another behind you elation.....#India you just keep giving.. we can't wait to wake up and explore
