14.01.2022 Hi everyone, The next installment in the "Jazz at the Lab" series is an exciting one, welcoming "The North". "The North" is a jazz quartet creating music combining the experiences of jazz musicians living in Canada and Scandinavia. Their recording The North won Canada's top music prize, the 2018 Juno Award for Jazz Album of the Year (Group). It features David Braid, piano (CANADA), Mike Murley, saxophone (CANADA), Johnny Åman, bass, (FINLAND/SWEDEN) and Anders Mogensen, dr...ums (DENMARK). Their original compositions showcase the skills that have brought them international acclaim as artists who seamlessly combine classical and jazz music. Can't miss this one guys. All bookings through [email protected]. $25/$15 conc/$10 ANU student card Please note: This concert will be held on Wed Apr 24, and has been re-located, thanks to the generosity of the Finnish ambassador, Lars Backström, to the Finnish Embassy (12 Darwinia Ave, Yarralumla) at 7.30. The Lab cafe in ANU’s Kambri Centre, the original venue, will not be finished in time. Please feel free to contact me or Geoff at: [email protected] See you there!
