You can hear the smooth and stimulating sounds of David Rastrick (trumpet/vocals/guitar) and Kevin McDonald (guitar) from 6 p.m., then with Viv Booker (double bass) from 7 p.m. this Thursday 2nd of July.

24.01.2022 I'm excited to share a workshop on the creative process of Oceanic-Jazz fusion this Sunday as part of Denmark Art's Brave New Works Festival. Where is Oceania? What is Oceanic Jazz? In this workshop, I'll share the work I'm commencing to create musical pieces that fuse jazz and various Oceanic musics.... I'll be joined double bassist Grant Moulden, guitarist Ross Dwyer and percussionist Mark Gretton for an early exploration of Oceanic jazz possibilities. The workshop is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Denmark Civic Centre this Sunday 8th of November.

James Flynn - who has temporarily settled in the hamlet of Denmark due to Covid travel restrictions - will sing Chet Baker. Trumpeter David Rastrick will sing Louis Armstrong. Get set from an evening of Singing and Swinging from 7:30 p.m. 26th of September at Denmark-Kwoorabup’s Riverside Club.

18.01.2022 Rastatrix reggae band play their first show in months today, at the launch of WA Forest Alliance's 'Forests for Climate' launch in Youngs Siding, Great Southern WA. Rastatrix will feature Jonelle Grochowski on vocals and percussion, Triska Lehane on bass, Rosco Dwyer and guitar, Mark Gretton onb drum-kit and myself (David Rastrick) on vocals, trumpet, slide-yidaki and keys. We'll be debuting some new original tunes - a heavy dancehall song 'Hope' and a Tahitian jazz reggae song 'Big Blue' - while paying tribute to Millie Smalls Jamaican Boogie / Ska song 'My Boy Lollipop'.

13.01.2022 Jazztrix Quartet have the pleasure of performing at Ajar on Shadforth on Sunday 9th of August - featuring David Rastrick - vocals and trumpets, Ross Dwyer - guitar, Grant Moulden - double bass, and Lauchlan Gillett - drum-kit. Jazztrix will perform jazz classics and original compositions - swing, Latin, blues, ballads and more, from 6 p.m. Sunday 9th of August at Ajar on Shadforth, Denmark/Kwoorabup. A beautiful place to enjoy the evening and good company, and dance!

He recorded some of the live show and later contacted me for an interview for his ‘Aussie Flashbacks’ radio show, which has hosted such Australian music luminaries as John Williamson, Russell Morris and Glenn Shorrock. The interview will be broadcast this Sunday.
