22.01.2022 Were very excited at JB HealthCare to be launching a new service that will compliment the services we currently provide. We all need good postural alignment to help us sustain an active lifestyle. To achieve this, we need correct positioning of our feet, knees, hips and back. Podiatry provides treatments that help maintain correct positioning and eliminate misalignment and pain in the feet, leg and throughout the body. Our Podiatry service provides assessment of all lower l...imb concerns. A biomechanical lower limb assessment is performed to determine the most appropriate treatment option for each patient. Some of the treatment options include: - Custom prescription orthotics - These are shoe inserts that are designed to correct the individual foot and lower limb position. The aim is to realign the toes, mid foot, heel and ankle with the leg, knee, hip and back. This improves walking, running, prevents injury, and improves performance in sports and daily activities. Orthotics provide stability, support, extra cushioning, pressure deflection and repositioning of digits reducing pain and misalignment. - Footwear advice - Each foot type requires different qualities in a shoe. The individual foot type of each patient is assessed and advice is given on the best shoe fit for their feet. - Strengthening and stretching programs - Patients are assessed on their muscle aliments for which they are then provided a program to improve strength, flexibility and function of the muscle.
