25.01.2022 With a heavy heart we would like to inform you all that our Member, Lindsay Doney, passed away peacefully on Saturday night, 7 November 2020 at the Moora Hospital. We celebrated Lindsay’s 85th Birthday on the previous Sunday, 1st November and it was an eventful and enjoyable day for all who popped into the open house provided by Audrey and Lindsay’s family. Thank you to Audrey, Colin, Ian and Families for your generosity in sharing Lindsay with us over the past weeks and a...llowing us into your home. Lindsay was a Life Member of our Group and had been with us for 35 years. Lindsay was awarded the Australia National Medal at our last General Meeting held on Sunday, 20 September 2020. Lindsay was a force in establishing and supporting our Group over his 35 years’ service and also offering his expertise, experience, quantity and quality time as Bosun/Skipper as well as sharing his wide range of maintenance knowledge on all vessels, vehicles, buildings and even lawnmowers during his time with us. He was a quiet achiever. His knowledge was abundant and he was a formidable fisherman and bushman. All our condolences to Audrey, Colin, Ian, Families and Friends. Kia hora to marino Kia whakapapa koura te moana Kia tere te karohirohi i mua i tou huarahi May the calm be widespread May the sea glisten like that of gold May the shimmering light guide you on your journey Aroha tino nui Rest in Peace Lindsay. 25.01.2022 It's been 16 years now since our first RAC Rescue Helicopter took to the skies, providing exceptional critical care to those in need. Last week they hit a stagg...ering milestone, with the Jandakot based chopper completing its 6000th mission! This time of year is particularly busy for the service, but they still managed to get up to Jurien Bay on the weekend for a Search and Rescue exercise with the local Marine Rescue Groups, WA Police, Department of Transport and Department of Fisheries. Well done to the Pilots, Aircrewmen and Critical Care Paramedics as well as the fantastic team at DFES Aviation Services who keep both of our RAC Rescue Helicopters in the air! 24.01.2022 It is with sadness that our Group informs the Jurien Bay Community that our Deputy Commander, Dennis Troup, passed away on 29 March 2020 in the presence of his loving Family. Dennis joined Jurien Bay Volunteer Marine Rescue Group in December 2013 and was appointed to the position of Deputy Commander in October 2016. Dennis was an active Radio Operator, both at the Tower and also as a home-based operator up until late November last year when he was admitted to Hospital. Den...nis was also involved in the hands-on training of our radio operators at the Tower and while under his guidance and expertise many of our volunteers enjoyed tales of his former life as an aviation pilot. Dennis was awarded his 5-year long service medal last year. Dennis fought his illness with dignity and humour and his presence will be missed by us all. The world has lost a fine human being and a real gentleman. A special and rare friend. Our sincere condolences are extended to Suzanne, Nick and Georgie, their families and friends. He Kohutu Rerenga Tahi A White Heron’s Flight is seen but once.

20.01.2022 A timely reminder to stay safe out there.
